A Look Back At 2016 and celebrating 9 years of bliss

2016 is almost over. As I look back at some of the milestones that have happened this past year I think about the trip my husband and I took to New Zealand and Australia, I think about my daughter Ashley coming home after completing an 18 month service mission for the LDS Church, I think about our family trip we took to Spain, Italy, France, and Monaco, I think about my daughter moving out again to finish her college education at BYU, and I think about my son Dalton and his wife Alexis buying their very first home (a small condo) together, and today I can’t help but thinking about the fact that on New Year’s Eve I will be celebrating my 9 year wedding anniversary with my husband Rollin.

Nine years ago when I met my husband Rollin I never could have imagined how much he would impact my life and the life of my two young children for the better. On New Years Eve in 2007 Rollin and I married. It was the magical fairy tale wedding every girl dreams about having. I will always remember the way he looked at me when he saw me in my wedding dress for the very first time. I will always remember the way my two children beamed at knowing that Rollin would be their new Father (Rollin legally adopted both of my two children, Dalton and Ashley).  Nine years ago New Year’s Eve was truly a perfect day:

A lot has happened in the last nine years together. We’ve had our ups and our downs and we’ve been through hard times and happy times…as with all marriages there have been times of trial and times of wedded bliss…but through all of it there is no one on this earth I would rather be married to. Rollin is my very best friend and the love of my life and after nine years together I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have him as my sweetheart. And I know my kids feel like the luckiest kids in the world to call him their Dad. So to my incredible husband I want to say: “Happy Anniversary sweetheart!”

Looking at our family picture taken at our wedding nine years ago and then comparing it to our Christmas photo this year it is amazing to see how much everyone has grown.  It’s been an awesome nine years together as a family and I look forward to many more years to come…

I hope all of you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day celebration with your loved ones. Because of the holiday I won’t be posting a blog Sunday night for Monday, but I will be back again to blog Monday night, January 2nd for Tuesday 🙂

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

By the way . . . in 2 weeks I will have been married 46 years. Life is a roller coaster but it’s worth it to hang on tight and stay on the ride.

Only the children have changed but you and Rollin look absolutely the same as 8 years ago. Best wishes for you all!
