A Sneak Peek Into the Upcoming Sundance Film Festival!

Sundance Film Festival is coming up from January 16th – 26th, 2014 and I am super excited about it, especially after getting a sneak peak tonight into the list of films that will be shown at the upcoming festival.

For those who may not be as familiar with the film festival, it was originally started by Robert Redford as a way to help independent filmmakers have a forum to get their films out to the people.  It began very small and it has grown into one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.  Actors, Filmmakers, celebrities, musicians, artists…you name it, they will be there to enjoy the movies, the parties, and rubbing shoulders with Hollywood A-listers on the streets of Park City, Utah.  It is ten days of films, food, fun, and festivities and it has become something my husband and I enjoy being a part of each year.

As a member of the Sundance Advisory Board I get to see firsthand the incredible amount of work that the staff and volunteers of Sundance put into preparing and executing the festival.  It is an enormous amount of work to pull off hosting and entertaining approximately 50,000 people who attend the festival each year.  Only about 1/3 of those people are residents of Utah.  The other 2/3 come from all over the United States as well as people coming from at least 22 other countries to attend the festival.  It is an amazing undertaking and every year I am in awe of how well the staff and volunteers handle this event.  They have every detail from transportation, lodging, movie tickets, attendee credentials, travel routes, security, etc down to an absolute science.  The festival runs like a well-oiled machine.  I am so impressed with all these hardworking teams do to make it an enjoyable experience for all attending.

A typical day at the festival includes seeing a few movies, eating great food, socializing, and attending a few parties, then waking up the next day and doing it all over again.  Everywhere you look there is some fun gathering or party to join in on.  And if you get peopled out you can step into your skis or your snowboard and hit the slopes to enjoy a little quiet time on the best snow on earth.  It’s like a dream life for ten glorious days.

There are too many movies for me to give you the run down on all of them but the festival program can be found on the Sundance festival website http://www.sundance.org/festival/ .  What I will do is tell you a few movies I am super excited to see this year.  I am a huge documentary fan myself.  I love watching them.  I always feel like I learn so much when I see the documentaries because they give you glimpses into subjects and people you would normally not get.  So here are just a few of the documentaries I am excited about are:  Fed Up – a  documentary about the obesity epidemic in America.  Ivory Tower – a documentary about the price of college education and whether it is actually worth it or not.  Happiness – a documentary about a Bhutanese village in the Himalayas that is about to get electricity and television for the first time and how it ends up impacting the level of happiness of the people living there.  Mitt – a behind the scene look at Mitt Romney and his family as they went through the presidential campaign. There are a bunch more I am excited to see but it would take way too long to list them all so instead I will just say COME TO SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL and see for yourself!  But get your tickets quickly before it’s too late!

But it is also undesirable in cases where it prevents you from fully using your body.
It’s a great area to strike, especially if you can pull it off if you are grappling
or in close quarters combat. When the quality of the uniforms is good, it
will easily survive many years of strenuous training and remain in
    good shape.

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally,
it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.
You definitely know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting videos
to your site when you could be giving us something informative
    to read?
