Avoid Blessing Blockers. Surround Yourself With People of Integrity.

When we surround ourselves with people of Integrity our lives are always made better. And by that same token, when we associate with people who lack integrity our lives will always be made worse. I refer to people who lack integrity as Blessing Blockers.

Throughout my career I have had the blessing of associating with many great people of integrity. They have always been a tremendous asset to my life and my life is blessed because of them.

There have also been times throughout my career where I have found myself in association with individuals who, over time, proved to have a lack of integrity. These people have proven to bring nothing but misery into life. I call these people Blessing Blockers because they not only do not bless our lives, if we continue to associate with them once we become aware that they lack integrity they can actually Block Blessings that might otherwise have come into our lives.

Experience has proven that there is absolutely no benefit to continuing an association with anyone who shows a lack of integrity. With some people you can tell quickly that they lack integrity. With others it can take a little longer for their bad behavior to present itself, but inevitably their lack of integrity becomes obvious and when it does we cannot ever allow ourselves to dismiss it or make light of it. We cannot excuse it away or attempt to minimize it. Rather we need to recognize it for what it is, and then we have to be willing to stand up against it and then disassociate from it as quickly as we can in order to avoid being dragged down by it ourselves.

We have to accept that we cannot control other people’s bad behavior – but we can choose to do our part to try and stop their bad behavior and then we can discontinue any further association with them.

The quality of our lives will improve dramatically when we surround ourselves with people of integrity and walk away from those without it.

“You’re a product of your environment, surround yourself with the best.”

We only have so many hours in a day and so many days on this earth, so why spend a single one of them around anyone who lacks integrity and will inevitably drag us down? We must always beware of Blessing Blockers and when we come to recognize them, decide to walk away! Especially when there are so many good people of integrity out there that will bless our lives tremendously if we make room for them – Those are the people we should choose to spend our valuable time with!

Have a tremendous day everyone!

Love this, Amy. Sometimes it’s easy to tell what a person is like from early in an association. Sometimes it takes a long time. I wish we knew instantly, before investing time we can’t get back on relationships we would never want if we knew how the story ended.
