Avoid discouraged, depressed, and empty!

Motivation. We all need it. Not just once or twice, but every single day of our lives. If we don’t refuel our motivation tanks on a regular basis we will burn through them and find ourselves discouraged, depressed, and empty.

It would be nice if we had a low fuel indicator light on our personal motivation tanks that would start flashing when we were getting low, but since we don’t the smart thing to do is to force yourself to refuel your tank a little bit each day. That way you don’t run the risk of getting too busy to notice that your tank has run out.

I find one of the best ways to stay motivated is through visual reminders. I put quotes on my bathroom mirror and post it’s on the walls and on my desk and just about anywhere I can so I force myself to see things that will provide me motivation.  I love pictures that motivate me too.

Another great way to stay motivated is to have power songs that totally pump you up and get you motivated to do amazing things.  I have a special playlist of motivational songs I can listen to in order to build me up every day. Even my ring tone is a motivational song so it pumps me up whenever it rings!

Audio of Motivational books are great to listen to while you drive to and from work or meetings. Even a two minute drive can help give needed motivation to keep your head on straight.

If you are trying to stay motivated during a daily workout I find watching episodes of “The Biggest Loser” is a perfect motivator to keep running! And they have great quotes you can put on an index card and hang on the wall around you such as:  “Unless you puke, faint, or die – keep going!” and “Every day, in every way, I get better and better.”

The key to staying motivated is refueling your tank daily. Don’t wait until its so low that you are dragging and depressed. Top it off each day and you will find that you perform far better and feel much happier.  You are capable of incredible things. Remember that!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend everyone!! Yay for weekends 🙂  They make me happy!

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” Zig Ziglar

Have a wonderful day and thank you for reminding me this basic concept!
