“I realized this week that I just cannot do it all. So I will choose to do what I can FABULOUSLY.” –Clinton Kelly
Some weeks you have so much to do that you have to admit to yourself that you are never going to be able to get it all done…so this is me admitting I am not going to get everything I needed to done this week, which gives me two choices: 1. I can be stressed out and discouraged and feel like a failure for not getting it all done, or 2. I can commit to do what I can and do it fabulously!
I’m gonna choose option 2 because being fabulous sounds like WAY more fun than being a failure. And the fact is that we can only do what we can do in a day, so there is no reason to fall apart over something that would be impossible to achieve anyway, right?! But what is always possible to achieve is to do what you can do each day and do it FABULOUSLY!
Mark Twain gave great advice when he said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.”
Given Mark Twain’s advice, perhaps we should all rewrite our To Do List’s to look a little more like this:
- Get Up
- Be FABULOUS
- Go Back To Bed
Now that is a To Do List that we can all get done 🙂
For today I can say: Item 1, check. Item 2, check. Item 3….well item 3 is about to be a check for me as it is way too late to be up still and I need sleep so I can hit the ground running tomorrow morning bright and early.
Remember, when you have more to do than can actually get done – admit it, prioritize it, and then get to it…and always, and I do mean always, do it FABULOUSLY!

Perfect for me today. I’m going to do what I can fabulously.
