Explore. Dream. Discover.

Today I went and spoke at the Intro to Entrepreneurship class at Brigham Young University.  Speaking to the students is one of my very favorite things to do because I look out into the crowd of young faces and I see so much about them that they haven’t even begun to recognize yet.

I’ve sat in their seats a long time ago – thirty years ago to be exact – I’ve felt those feelings of uncertainty they feel as they are trying to figure out what direction to go with their lives.  I’ve experienced the insecurities of wondering if I’d ever be good enough to do anything great. And I’ve been afraid that I wouldn’t even be able to muster up enough courage to try.

But 30 years later I can look at them knowing their futures are going to be full of incredible adventures as they explore new things, and with each attempt they will open their minds to an entire world of possibilities that exists.  I look at them knowing that the dreams they have today are so small compared to the dreams God actually has in store for them.   And I can look at them knowing that as they move forward with courage and faith they are going to discover that the canvas of their life is going to become a masterpiece.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did.  So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.  Explore. Dream. Discover.”  – Mark Twain

Whether we are 18 or 80, we are never too old to live an incredible life so get out there and EXPLORE, DREAM, & DISCOVER because your masterpiece is just getting started!
