Express and Live A Life of Gratitude

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” – William Arthur Ward

Tonight I have been thinking a lot about Gratitude. My life has been a huge whirlwind the last several months. Some things I have experienced have been amazing and some things I have experienced have been incredibly challenging. I suppose that is the same for all of our lives. But today especially I am feeling incredibly grateful because new blessings have come into my life as of late and one specific trial I have gone through has finally come to an end today. The gratitude I am feeling today is hard to put into words, but I am going to try because I think expressing our gratitude is incredibly important. That is why I love the opening quote of today’s blog so much. When we feel gratitude in our hearts it is wrong not to express it!

First I am grateful to my Heavenly Father because He has blessed my life beyond measure. When things go right for me I know He played a major role in it. When things go wrong for me He helps me through it. And when things seem to be confusing and I can’t understand why things are going the way they are I know that He is the one ultimately in charge and He is always leading me toward something that will be for my own best good. I am eternally grateful to know that.

Second I am grateful to my family. I have the most amazing husband and the most incredible two children any mother could ask for. They are my entire world. They mean everything to me and I cannot thank them enough for their love and support in my life. And now to make it even better I am soon getting the most beautiful daughter-in-law on the inside and out! #eternallyblessed

Third I am grateful for my friends. I have amazing friends, and incredible mentors in my life. I find myself surrounded by greatness in every aspect of my life. From my neighbors to my coworkers to all the other friends in my life. They make me a better person because I associate with them.

Finally I am grateful to my support system. In my business and personal affairs I have been supported by the best and the brightest. I have had amazing lawyers and accountants and clients and partners and employees and all kinds of people I work with on every aspect of managing my business and personal affairs and I am so grateful for the guidance and advise they provide me. Finding good people you can trust is not easy, but when you do it is a massive blessing and something to be appreciative every day.

I love this quote by John F. Kennedy and the reminder it gives:

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to LIVE by them.”

And so my goal is to not only express gratitude, but to live every day of my life with gratitude.

Have a blessed day everyone!

    Hey Amy,

But I have noticed that if I express gratitude or appreciate someone / thank them say for a great event / concert / art , the reaction I face sometime is very passive…I fear of them thinking I am coming on to them — though I never exaggerate or use the means of flattery? Thought to run this through an expert –you :)..how would you feel if someone reach out and appreciate you upfront..? Have a great day…
