Faith, Hope, Love, and Luck

Given that this Thursday is St. Patrick’s Day I figure this is the perfect week to talk about luck. We have all heard of the four leaf clover. It`s also sometimes referred to as a shamrock. They are said to bring good luck to anyone who can find one of them. According to legend, each leaf represents something: the first is for faith, the second is for hope, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck. When I read about what each leaf represents, it all made sense to me – after all, faith, hope, love and luck all fit so closely together!

Being lucky is all about having that special zing.  That bounce in your step. That song in your heart.  That faith in things to come.  That hope that stems from faith.  And a genuine love for life.  It’s about finding the positive and waking up each morning to say “HELLO WORLD!  LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!”

A few things that lucky people do are:

Prepare.  They say that luck is when preparation meets opportunity, so it would seem to me that you should be prepared at all times for something lucky to occur.

Network.  Lucky people get to know everyone.  They take a genuine interest in getting to know others as they assume that anyone they meet might be a person to bring good fortune into their life.

Trust your instincts.  Lucky people trust their inner voice, that gut feeling, that spirit that tells them what they should follow and trust in.

See the good and expect the best.  Anxiety and worry are the enemies of luck.  Lucky people see the good in everything.  Because they don’t believe in coincidence they are constantly looking for the meaning in every situation.   They believe that when bad things happen they are simply the gateway to something better.  They are always positive and full of faith.  They truly expect that God has their best interest at heart and so they go forward with that assumption guiding them.

Faith, Hope, Love, and Luck….I would say those are four great qualities to carry with us each day, so let’s all wake up in the morning and yell, “Hello world! Let’s get this party started!!”
