Good Clean Fun – something we just don’t see enough of these days

Over the weekend I was honored to attend the Governor’s Gala for Utah Governor Gary Herbert. At the Gala they had a comedian performed whom I had never heard of before named Ryan Hamilton. A few days before the Gala, I Googled his name to see who he was and if he was funny. I watched a few short YouTube clips of him and I was pleasantly surprised at how funny he was in them.

From the moment he came out to perform on stage at the Gala we started to laugh and we didn’t stop laughing the entire time he performed. And it wasn’t just a “ha ha” kind of laugh, it was a full-bellied, laughing so hard we couldn’t breathe, kind of laugh. We absolutely LOVED his performance.

What I loved most about it was the fact that during his performance he didn’t say a single swear word, or make any inappropriate comments, or use any degrading references, or sexual remarks, or do any off-colored jokes…his humor was clean and hysterical and uplifting. Never once did I need to feel uncomfortable as I sat listening to him and never once did I worry about my daughter, who was sitting next to me, being there to hear him. It was wholesome, family friendly entertainment and it was unbelievably entertaining and humorous. I love that.

It’s so easy for people to go for the cheap laugh or the inappropriate joke. It takes far more talent to share clean humor without all the gimmicks and shock factor that are so often used. Ryan Hamilton is funny. Incredibly funny. And I hope everyone gets the chance to hear his performance someday because his humor is clean and it will make you laugh until it hurts. Laughter is such a great cure-all.

Here’s a quick clip of Ryan Hamilton from You Tube – his full standup act in person is the best but this will at least give you a little taste of how funny he is!

Ryan Hamilton is good, clean fun…and that is something we just don’t see enough of these days.  Enjoy!

HELLO!!!!!! I would really like to insert a “bathroom” comment, due to laughing so hard, but I won’t. (oops! Kinda did).
