How to Wake-Up Such That You’ve Set The Stage For A Happier Day Ahead

I’m just going to put it out there – I do NOT like waking up in the mornings. I tend to be more of a night owl which makes it really hard for me to wake up early, yet most days I’ve got things scheduled all day long which means I end up being grumpy when I have to wake up.

Now I realize the proper solution would simply be to go to bed earlier at night but I am also a realist and I know the chances of me doing that are like slim to none so I decided I could use a few tips on how to wake up happier and here are a few of the tips that I found:

*Wake up on time. That means you get out of bed as soon as your alarm goes on without hitting snooze a thousand times like I always do.

*Open the curtains and let the sunshine in the room. Natural light helps your body wake-up.

*Make your bed. My father-in-law is convinced that if you don’t make your bed then your day will never go as well. A made bed apparently leads to having a more organized and productive day.

*Make a healthy fruit smoothie to get those healthy vitamins and antioxidants into your system first thing.

*Play some happy music while you are in the bathroom getting ready. Music is a great mood setter so put on the upbeat tunes to help bring you to life and get you feeling happy for a great day ahead.

*Quietly meditate for five minutes, or even better, kneel down and have a morning prayer to thank God for your blessings and then to ask Him to help you to accomplish the things you need to and to help you recognize the opportunities that present themselves that day.  A little prayer in the morning will give you more confidence throughout your entire day.

*Review your schedule for your day ahead and quickly prioritize your to-do list so you start your day with a good plan.

*Take two minutes to do one small act of kindness for someone else (or plan one you will do later that day). By doing a small act of service each morning you will give yourself a much needed boost of Seratonin which definitely causes you to feel happier.

*Look at yourself in the mirror before you walk out the door. Smile and tell yourself “YOU ARE GORGEOUS!”. Then head out and feeling ready to conquer the Universe with your awesomeness!

So there they are, a few tips on how to wake-up and start each day. Tomorrow’s goal: Wake Up. Be Awesome! #wuba
