If you think you are too small to make a difference…

If you have ever felt inferior, or powerless, or like you are simply too small to make a difference in the world, you need to hear this quote:

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”- Dalai Lama

Too often we feel like we are just an ordinary person spending our days trying to survive in this crazy world. We forget that there is nothing ordinary about any of us! Every single one of us is an extraordinary being with divine potential. And every one of us has the ability to make this world a better place. Not one of us can say we are “too small” to make a difference. Let me show you a few examples of why:

Alexandra Scott – diagnosed with cancer before she turned one. At the age of four she started a lemonade stand to donate the money to research curing cancer in children. In her first year she raised $2,000 and inspired kids everywhere to join her cause with their own lemonade stands. By the time she passed away at the age of 8 she had raised over $1 million dollars for pediatric cancer research.

Nicholas Lowinger – He visited a homeless shelter with him mom at the age of 5 and was shocked to learn that some kids couldn’t afford shoes. He began donating his own shoes as he outgrew them but decided that wasn’t enough. At the age of 12 he started a non-profit called Gotta Have Sole Foundation that donates new shoes to homeless shelters and since 2010 he has donated shoes to over 45,000 children in 43 states.

Craig Kielburger – at the age of 12 while reading the comics in the newspaper he saw an article about a boy that was murdered while speaking out against child slavery. Craig shared the article with his class and asked if they would join him in the fight to speak out. Eleven kids volunteered and Free The Children was started. Free The Children educates young people on how to create social change and helps lift communities out of poverty.

After hearing of those examples not one of us can ever claim we are too small…the important thing is to choose to believe that by each of us simply taking action and giving it our full effort, our success is inevitable! Believe that…because it’s true.

“There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal.” –CS Lewis

Every person ever born has divine potential and there is nothing ordinary about that! So GO BE EXTRAORDINARY!!!
