Join Me For This Weekends Semi-Annual REFRESH!

It’s time for a semi-annual REFRESH!  That’s right…every six months an entire weekend is dedicated to refreshing, renewing, and re-centering your spirit!  It’s the BEST!  This semi-annual conference is a live broadcast that streams over the internet over a weekend every October and again every April, and this weekend is the October conference! I’M SO EXCITED!  And all of you are totally invited to watch it with me 🙂

Here’s how it works:  The General conference consists of four, two hour each sessions (so 8 hours total) of the most AMAZING speakers on a myriad of uplifting topics such as balancing your life, to strengthening your spirit, drawing closer as a family, goal setting, and all kinds of other personal improvement subjects .  And the coolest thing is that it’s all broadcast live over the internet for everyone to hear in 31 different languages and then it’s also available on-demand in 86 languages! It’s a worldwide broadcast event like no other.

The conference this weekend begins on Saturday October 5th at 10am mdt. The first session is from 10am-12pm mdt, then the second session is from  2pm – 4pm mdt.  Then the third session begins Sunday October 6th from 10am-12pm mdt and then the fourth session is from 2pm – 4pm mdt. You can access the live stream  by clicking here

Every conference as I listen to the speakers I write down quotes from their talks that inspire me and I draw on those quotes throughout the year until the next conference when I get new ones.

Here are just a few of the quotes I wrote down from past conferences:

“Experts on goal setting tell us that the simpler and more straightforward a goal is, the more power it will have. When we can reduce a goal to one clear image or one or two powerful and symbolic words, that goal can then become part of us and guide virtually everything we think and do.”  -Russell Ballard

“In reality, it is much easier to be “all in” than partially in. When we are partially in or not in at all, there is, in the Star Wars vernacular, “a disturbance in the force.” We are out of sync with God’s will and therefore out of sync with the nature of happiness.”  – Gary B. Sabin

“Two essential ingrediants for a happy marriage are a cookie and a kiss.” -Boyd Packer

“The family that prays together is together, even when they are far apart.” – Henry B. Eyring

“The best teacher is a good role model.” – Ulisses Soares

“When we seek to complete and not compete, it is so much easier to cheer each other on.” -Linda Burton

“Take an inventory of how you spend your time and where you devote your energy. That will tell you where your heart is.” –Russell M. Nelson

“…Each of us is a child of God with a potential destiny of eternal life.  Every other label, even including occupation, race, physical characteristics or honors, is temporary or trivial in eternal terms. Don’t choose to label yourselves or think of yourselves in terms that put a limit on a goal for which you might strive.”   –  Dallin H. Oaks

Can you see why I love the talks so much?! They are always so inspiring and they really help you get out from yourself and see things in a broader, more eternal, perspective. We all need tools to help us keep things in perspective and this conference is one tool I couldn’t succeed without. Watch for yourself and you’ll see what I mean #worthit

Happy watching!
