Paying It Forward With A Reminder That Today is #FreeSlurpeeDay!

I decided to post tonight’s blog early today because I want to make sure everyone is aware that because today 7/11 it is FREE SLURPEE DAY at 7-Eleven. But to get your free Slurpee but you’ve got to get in there by 7pm today so I wanted to post today’s blog in plenty of time for you to get the reminder and still make it to your local 7-Eleven where you can get your free Slurpee and enjoy that refreshing goodness 🙂

It may seem silly that I would go out of my way to post a blog early today just so I can let everyone know they can get a free Slurpee if they get there before 7pm but last night I had an experience that reminded me of how helpful a fun little pick-me up can be when you’ve had a long day and so today I wanted to pay that joy forward.

Yesterday was a bit rough and I wasn’t feeling very good when I got home last night. A little bit later my husband came walking in the door holding an entire three gallon bucket of Daiquiri Ice from Baskin-Robbins in his arms with a gigantic smile on his face.  He yelled out, “Baby…look what I got for you!” He was so proud of himself. I asked him how in the world he’d been able to buy an entire tub of ice cream as Baskin-Robbins normally isn’t willing to sell it by the tub. He said that he told the person at the counter that if they wouldn’t sell him the tub he would stand there and keep ordering hand packed pints until it equaled as much as the tub so that they might as well save themselves the trouble of hand-packing it and just let him buy it.  Apparently the manager of the shop agreed that it made no sense to sit and hand pack all that ice cream so they agreed to let him buy the entire bucket of Daiquiri Ice.

Despite how lousy I was feeling yesterday, seeing my husband holding that huge tub of ice cream with that big cheesy grin on his face just made everything feel a whole lot better in life.  And that, my friends, is the reason I wanted to pay forward a little kindness by reminding everyone that there are free Slurpee’s being given out at 7-Eleven today. So whatever type of day you are having today I’m hoping a free Slurpee can help make it a whole lot better. Now go get you some of that refreshing goodness!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
