Redefining Failure

Failure is a funny thing. Many of us fear it. Many of us avoid it. Many of us let it stop us. Many of us decide to simply not try so that we don’t have to chance it. Funny thing is that there really isn’t such a thing as failure at all. There is only the opportunity to learn a lesson that will make you smarter and stronger and better in the future…

Henry Ford said it best when he said:

“Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, only this time more wisely.”

The best way in life to learn is to try and fail and then try a little bit different way and fail a little bit differently and to get up once more and try yet again in a little different way. In that process of trying and failing you are really just gaining an education on how to get better and smarter and stronger. I can honestly say that trial and failure have been the best educators in my own life.

The only rule I try to live by in regards to failure is to never make the same mistake twice. I am good to allow myself the freedom to try and fail anything, but I always commit to never ever fail by making the same mistake twice. When you repeat your mistakes you are showing that you didn’t learn anything at all, so DON’T allow yourself to do that. But DO allow yourself the freedom to try new things with the attitude that failing is not a bad thing – it is an educational thing that will help you to improve if you let it. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and don’t hold yourself back for fear of failing.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Never be afraid to fail. Only be afraid not to learn from your failures. So get out there and give it your best shot. Like Mark Twain said “Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Have the BEST DAY EVER!
