Today was one of those days.  It wasn’t that it was a really bad day and it wasn’t that anything horrible happened…it was just one of those stressful days where you are going like crazy all day yet feeling like you are making no progress at all…when you are being pulled by this person and that person and feeling like you can’t be everything to everyone which bums you out…when your head aches to no end but search as you may you can’t find the bottle of aspirin…yeah, that sums up my day today.

By the time I was home for the night all I wanted was a great big hug…but I called out and found I was in an empty house all by myself. My husband had gone to the gym to work-out and my daughter was attending a school assembly, so it was just me all by myself with no one to give me a hug.

So I did what any intelligent person would do at that point – I opened the freezer and whipped out a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Scotchy Scotch Scotch Ice Cream….ahhhh yes…..a fantastic substitute when you can’t find anyone to give you a hug J….

Some days are fantastic.  Some days are horrific.  And some days are somewhere in between. But each has its place in life.   Each brings its own lessons and experiences. Even when we don’t enjoy some nearly as much as others, we just have to remind ourselves that at least we had the day…at least we are alive and with our loved ones…and if every day was fantastic we wouldn’t appreciate fantastic nearly as much.  Most important – a world without bad days would also be a world without the need for hugs and a world without the need for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream – and none of us should ever want a world like that!

Thank heavens for hugs and Ben & Jerry’s Scotchy Scotch Scotch Ice Cream!  And here is hoping for a fantastic day tomorrow – heaven knows I would appreciate it greatly!
