That Star You Wished On Can Only Take You Part Of The Way

“That old star can only take you part of the way. You gotta help it along with some hard work of your own.”  – Princess and The Frog

Wishing on a star is often what we do when we want something in life.  People wish for riches, or fame, or success, or love, etc.  Unfortunately wishing alone is never going to be enough to get you what you are wishing for. You have to be willing to roll up your sleeves and get to work. You have to set the goals that will take you toward that wish a reality. You have to roll up your sleeves and get to work on it – and I’m not talking a little work here and there when its convenient – I’m talking about working your guts out to make things happen, and being willing to face the challenges and disappointments head on without quitting, and accepting the fact that the very best things take the most amount of effort – expect that. Success isn’t achieved overnight have proper expectations that this is going to be hard and this is going to be uncomfortable at times and its going to take serious dedication and commitment. Again anything worth having is worth working for.

If you want to know the best way to speed up the process and avoid the major hurdles then you are going to have to look for and accept some guidance along the way. Most everyone who achieves great success has accepted a lot of help along the way.  No one makes it to the top alone.  You need the help of others. You need good people and good examples that can teach  you and mentor along the way. And if you are blessed enough to have someone who is willing to take you under their wing and show you the ropes, well, be wise enough to accept their help.  After all, nothing makes your dreams come true faster than having the help of a fairy godmother…just ask Cinderella….
