The Greatest Superheroes Keep Their Identity A Secret

The greatest superheroes keep their identity a secret. Wonder Woman (my personal favorite!) is Diana Prince, Superman is Clark Kent, Spiderman is Peter Parker, and so on. Here they are, saving the world day after day, yet they choose to walk around as normal, everyday people, taking no credit at all for the great work they have done. Why? Because for these superheroes it’s not about them, it’s about the people they serve.

Superheroes aren’t shrinking violets who don’t know who exactly who and what they are capable of. They all know exactly who they are – they know the talents they possess, and the powers that they have. They know themselves to be capable, strong, and intelligent. But they also recognize that what truly matters in life isn’t what they are seen to be on the outside – they know what truly matters is how they use their talents, abilities, and powers to help and save the lives of others.

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself.  It’s thinking of yourself less.”   -C.S. Lewis

Superheroes are those who live their lives with integrity and the courage to do the right thing, regardless of if they are wearing their everyday clothing or they are dressed in their supersuits. They are humble, spending their days in the service of others. They don’t seek out accolades, but those times they receive them, they accept them graciously.

We can all be a superhero by doing what we can to help others. And whether the world comes to know of your true superhero identity or not, God will know, and that’s all that matters.

Have a great day!
