The Magnetic Power Of Gratitude

“What if you gave someone a gift, and they neglected to thank you for it–would you be likely to give them another? Life is the same way. In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have.” ~ Ralph Marston

It was Henry Ward Beecher who once said, “If one should give me a dish of sand, and tell me there were particles of iron in it, I might look for them with my eyes, and search for them with my clumsy fingers, and be unable to detect them; but let me take a magnet and sweep through it and how would it draw to itself the almost invisible particles by the mere power of attraction. The unthankful heart, like my finger in the sand, discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day, and as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessing.”

When a person recognizes and is grateful for the good things that come into their life, they become like a magnet that will attract more and more good into their life. Whereas a person who is ungrateful spends their days digging around in the sand only to miss out on the amazing things that had been within their reach the entire time.

“When it comes to life the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.” –Gilbert Keith Chesterton

If we really want to draw more abundance into our lives we have to be thankful for what is already there.
