Twas the Night of Thanksgiving

T’was the night of Thanksgiving,

But I just couldn’t sleep.

I tried counting backwards,

I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned,

The dark meat and white.

But I fought the temptation,

With all of my might.

Tossing and turning,

with anticipation.

The thought of a snack

became infatuation.

So I raced to the kitchen,

Flung open the door,

And gazed at the fridge,

Full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey,

And buttered potatoes,

Pickles and carrots,

Beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling,

So plump and so round.

‘til all of a sudden,

I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,

Floating into the sky,

With a mouthful of pudding,

And a handful of pie.

But I managed to yell

As I soared past the trees

Happy eating to all,

Pass the cranberries, please!!

May your stuffing be tasty

May your turkey be plump.

May your potatoes and gravy

Have nary a lump.

May your yams be delicious,

May your pies take the prize

And May your Thanksgiving dinner

Stay off of your thighs!

-Lauren

I want to wish all of you the happiest Thanksgiving ever!  May your table be full of delicious food.  May your home be full of friends and family you love.  May your life be full of gratitude for all God has bestowed upon you.  May your heart be filled with peace.  And last but not at all least, may our pants still fit us once this holiday is over 🙂

I won’t be posting on Wednesday night (for Thursday morning) or Thursday night (for Friday morning) as I always take holiday’s off from writing my blog so I can focus my time on my sweet family.  And let’s be honest- black Friday is coming and there is some crazy mad shopping that needs to get done!!  So I will post my blog again on Sunday night (for Monday morning) – until then – HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!

Appreciating the dedication you put into your website and detailed
information you present. It’s nice to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the
same out of date rehashed material. Great read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m adding
your RSS feeds to my Google account.

You could certainly see your expertise within the work you write.
The arena hopes for more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to
mention how they believe. Always go after your heart.
