“Victory is not won in miles, but in inches.”

Have you ever been so heads down working that you literally didn’t realize that morning had turned to nighttime without you even moving once from your seat? That was literally my day today. I seriously sat in the same seat the entire day so completely focused on the work I was doing on my computer that I had no clue it was after 9:30pm at night and I haven’t gotten up to eat or take a bathroom break ALL DAY! True story!  When I looked up and saw how dark it was outside a few minutes ago and then saw how late it was I suddenly noticed….I can no longer feel my own booty! That is how long I have been sitting here today!  YIKES!!!  So it is definitely time for me to stand up and do a little booty dance to get that blood flowing again!

I actually think that anytime we finish an incredibly focused day of work we should always stand up and do a little booty dance just to celebrate the fact that we were disciplined and focused and we got a ton of hard work accomplished in our day.

We have to take time to celebrate the little things in life each day. We have to give ourselves a pat on the back and say “Great job today!” We all need that to help motivate ourselves to get up and do it all again tomorrow! We gotta celebrate the small things!!

As Louis L’amour said,  “Victory is not won in miles, but in inches.”

Each day move forward at least one inch. Then somedays, like my day today, be focused enough to move forward two or three inches. But whether you move forward an inch, or two or three, always make time to stand up and do a little booty dance for yourself just to celebrate your daily accomplishments (and to help get feeling back in it when it’s been a three inch forward day 🙂 ).  Oh, and then go and get yourself a bowl of ice cream…with sprinkles. Why?  Because sprinkles are for winners and anyone who moves forward at least an inch in their day is most definitely a winner!

Tonight I plan to have extra sprinkles 😉

WOW! I love that you didn’t chastise yourself for not getting up, drinking water, eating, and walking around. You’re right. Sometimes we need to totally focus – and then celebrate because we can and because we deserve a little rah-rah for being disciplined and diligent.
