We Will Be Known Forever By The Tracks We Leave Behind

“We will be known forever by the tracks we leave behind.” -Dakota tribe

Riding a bike along a path I found my eyes drawn to a track that someone riding in front of me had left in their wake. I could see exactly where they had ridden before me. Perhaps it was the beauty of nature that caused me to wax philosophical as I stared at their track but the thought I had was how each of us will be known and remembered by the tracks we leave behind…

Where would we want our tracks to show we have been? What paths will be proud to have our tracks be seen on? What paths would we want to have avoided so our tracks wouldn’t be seen there? Would we want our tracks to show that if ever we did head down the wrong path we were smart enough to stop and turn around to get back on the right path again. Would we want our tracks to show having stopped at times to help others who were stuck on the side of the path to get going again? Would we want our tracks to reflect us riding side by side with someone we love?

Whether we left them with intention or not, we are leaving tracks each day we live our lives and those tracks will be what we are forever known for.

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” – Jane Goodall

Decide now where you want your tracks to be seen by all those who come behind.

Have a beautiful day!

    Love this plane of thinking. It is selfless and looks beyond yourself of how you impact others and what they find once you have left. Fantastic read today.

    THANK YOU!

    Looking a couple of centuries ahead,
    One expects all those living now, to be dead;
    Their sole link to the future, besides the genes,
    To be jotted hues, tunes and ideas keen.

    Enjoyed the Blog you wrote. Made me to think that my actions should make a positive impact on others and I should be careful in each step I take. I encourage personally to write such blogs as little things create a bigger impact in life.
