Where There’s A Will There’s A Way

It is 1:33am and we just finished unboxing for the night.  I went to get out my laptop to write my blog and realized that I didn’t have the power cord. We tore through boxes looking for it but finally had to give up.  I panicked because I have not missed even one single day of writing my daily blog since I first started on August 13th of 2010!  5 days a week, every week without fail.  The only day I don’t blog is on official holidays.  And I truly haven’t missed a single day since I set the goal and promised my employees back then that I was going to commit to writing a daily blog every weekday for them without fail.  I knew that if I wanted to gain their trust that I couldn’t miss a single day.  I had to prove to them that I really was committed to communicating with them daily.  And so I set a goal and I have never allowed myself to miss it in all these years, so you can imagine my feeling of panic when I realized tonight that my laptop only had a few minutes of battery juice left for me to be able to post my blog!  But where there is a will there is a way, so I am typing as fast as I can and I am willing my machine to stay alive just long enough for me to hit post. I refuse to let this die before I post tonight’s blog!!!

Oh my! The laptop just died and I am now typing this on my iPad that is also about to die! What the heck?!?! It’s as if the Universe is testing me to see how dedicated to upholding my goal!! Well let me tell you this, if I have to get in the car and drive clear down to my office to post my blog that is what I will do because I refuse to give up on fulfilling my goal. I refuse to quit on it no matter how tired and worn out I am!  When everything goes wrong that is when you have to dig in, grit your teeth, and yell “bring it!” “You are not going to tear me down or stop me”…don’t give up…you CAN DO IT!!!!

I will end with a poem that is perfect for tonight. Have a great weekend!!! ~Amy

Don’t Quit – by John Greenleaf Whittier

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyong of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out,
Dont’ give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is falure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
For all the sad words of tongue or pen,
The saddest are these: “It might have been!”
