You Never Know How Boring Your Life Is Until…

I’ve been up to my eyeballs in construction meetings all day today about our new office space…well, all day and all night actually given its 11:30pm and I’m just now getting home to boot up my laptop for the first time today.  I honestly feel like my brain has turned to mush tonight after so many hours of going over what things we will need to change and what bids we need to get as well as taking what felt like a million different measurements so we could try and figure out what room configurations might possibly work in this building we are planning to renovate. And here I thought buying would end up being easier than building….sigh….

I’m behind on reading and answering emails, I am behind on returning phone calls, I’m even behind on text messages at this point so working 20 hours a day seems like the only way I’ll ever be able to catch up.  But it’s summer for heaven’s sake! I’m supposed to be having fun in the sun, not working 20 hour days!!

“You never know how boring your life is until someone asks you what you like to do for fun.” – unknown

I have always struggled with carving out enough time for myself to have fun.  Between working like crazy and trying to help other people, I don’t really get time to think about myself. So much so that I’m not even sure that I’d know how to answer the question about what I like to do for fun because it’s been so long since I’ve even taken time to ask myself…

It’s clear I am in serious need of making time for fun in my life. Summer is more than halfway over and I need to take time to enjoy it before it’s gone!  So that’s going to be my new goal – to figure out what it is I like to do for fun and then DO IT!
