You’re only asking “Why?” because you don’t know the amazing things that lay ahead for you

“Your journey has molded you for the greater good. It was exactly what it needed to be. Don`t think you’ve lost time. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time.” – Asha Tyson

I have never believed in coincidence.  Maybe I have lived long enough now to gain an appreciation for the complexity that exists in the world we live in and have seen too many things come together that the exact moment in time with the exact right people in the exact right situation to believe that there is not a higher power in our universe that is helping to make it all happen.

Just like everyone else, my life has been filled with situations where I would sit in frustration and question “Why me?”  “Why this?”  “Why now?” or more often it’s “Why not now?” (which was the question I used to ask over and over when I was a single parent hoping to meet the right person to marry). And like the times when a business deal would fail that I had worked so hard to have go right, only to wonder “WHY?  Why did this have to happen after all my hard work?”  Or the time when my best friend, who was in perfect health, died suddenly causing me to ask “Why him?  He was one of the good guys!  Why couldn’t it have been one of the bad people who don’t add value to this world?  Why take my friend from me so suddenly?”

But then I think back to the dating relationships that failed and caused me sadness, which then led me to go out and meet new friends, which led me to eventually meet that exact perfect man for me to marry – only I couldn’t see that at the time the first relationship failed – I didn’t know what lay ahead of me…

Or the times that a failure in one business deal led me to pursue a new opportunity that was far more successful than the first deal would have ever been – only I couldn’t see that at the time the first deal failed – I didn’t know what lay ahead of me…

You see, when things in life go wrong we sometimes fall apart or stress out or get depressed and sad – yet in that very moment if we could step back and realize that maybe, just maybe, the hard time we are going through right now is really going to lead us into the most amazing situation we could ever imagine and that what lies ahead in that new situation is going to bring us happiness beyond measure  – if we could just trust that God (or the Universe or a higher power or whatever you believe in) truly does have a grand design for our life and that everything we are going through is meant to help us, to prepare us, to teach us, and to lead us to a situation that will create the very best outcome possible for our life – maybe then we would have the courage and the strength and the fortitude to get through those tough times with a level of endurance and a hope for the future that will help us pass through the tough times more quickly and without so much sadness.   Maybe then we could live each day feeling happy and grateful for what we are learning today and with hope for what will come tomorrow.

I truly believe that God is aware of every little teeny weeny detail of our life, down to the people we meet at the moment we meet them.   I think that much of the time God uses other people coming into our lives with a smile, a helping hand, or just advice as the answer to our prayers.  I think that if we stay aware and open to the possibility that everyone we are surrounded by every single day is put there for a reason that will benefit us in the end by teaching us something valuable – sometimes they teach us happy lessons and sometimes they teach us patience and tolerance for putting up with them, but nonetheless, they teach us.  If we can recognize that and look for that, we will see the intricate network of people in our lives and the value that each of them has brought to us and we will appreciate that nothing has happened by coincidence at all.  It is all part of the grand design meant to bring us to the very spot we are at today, in the very circumstance, with the very people that are meant to be in our life.

Now is the right time.  And all of us are in the right place with the right people around us, and it’s up to us to learn from this time of our lives and this place we are in. It’s up to us to look for the lessons and the opportunities that our current situation will cause us to grow from.  It’s up to us to look for the happiness our current situation is meant to be bringing into our lives ahead.  And it’s up to us to get on our knees and thank heaven for everything that has been done to bring us to this moment right now.

You are amazing, and strong, and fully capable of absolute greatness. Remember that.

Have an absolutely amazing day everyone!

I read your article about Delta caring. It’s 2:00 am I’m sitting in the Atlanta airport waiting, hoping their customer service reps will be more kind and helpful thanbany I’ve encountered so far. LA-Atlanta. I did nothing wrong. The gate agent forgot to call names of people who had bought tickets and seats, but none were assigned. They gave my seat away or the flight was overbooked. I received both stories. Instead of caring, giving me a hotel and perhaps a ticket for the inconvenience, I’ve received nothing but insensitivity. I’m shocked by the whole situation. It saddens me after traveling abroad on Swiss Air and having such a wonderful experience. This is how our companies here in the US treat us? Sad!

Many years ago, I reinvented myself – through Jesus Christ – and in that moment I went from asking Why me, to asking why not me? Then I started practicing gratitude. Find the sliver of joy in everything because it won’t come find us.

Thank you for that message which is full of so much hope.

Unfortunately, I married the wrong man years ago. I knew at the time he was wrong, but i was so tired of waiting. How can I not wonder “what would have happened if I hadn’t made the wrong choice?” Heavenly Father knew that I was going to make that stupid mistake. So, hopefully, as he did with the translation pages lost by J. Smith, He has prepared a back-up plan for me.

Thank you for giving me that hope.
