I returned home just in time to host an
extended family gathering on Fourth of July at my home and then take my own family
to Stadium of Fire (the largest firework show in the country) where we saw Keith
Urban perform. Then over this weekend my grandbaby Magnolia (Maggie for short)
was blessed in church and afterwards we hosted another big extended family
gathering. But even before going out of
town for several weeks I’d been out of pocket helping care for my father-in-law
with his back injury. So I’ve really been away for a good six weeks from
everything, which makes the thought of trying to jump back into things tomorrow
terrifying. I can’t even fathom the
amount of email and texts and phone messages I’m going to be facing tomorrow…I’m
not even sure where to begin catching up there is so much I’m behind on… deep
breaths…don’t panic…whatever…I’m definitely panicking!

The only way to get back into the swing of things is to start.
Start with a step, and if a step seems overwhelming (which in my case after
being away for six weeks, it does…) then take the advice shared in this quote:

“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction can be the biggest step of your life. That will help you stay focused on the happy as you have to get back to work again.

Have an AWESOME day everyone!

~Amy Rees Anderson

It’s never easy getting back into the swing of things after being away for a period of time. These last several weeks I traveled down to St. George to speak at a business conference, then I went immediately down to Lake Powell to host a group on our houseboat for over a week, and then […]

[1
395,4875,21473,16065,9881,407,14614,21470,6397,19932
post-11371","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-amy-rees-anderson","tag-back-to-work","tag-getting-back-into-the-swing-of-things","tag-going-back-to-work","tag-holiday-weekend","tag-overwhelmed","tag-take-the-first-step","tag-tip-toe-if-you-must","tag-vacation-time","tag-what-awesome-looks-like
["GET
