{"id":11506,"date":"2019-08-03T23:23:10","date_gmt":"2019-08-04T05:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=11506"},"modified":"2019-08-06T20:10:33","modified_gmt":"2019-08-07T02:10:33","slug":"from-a-cloud-of-depression-into-the-sunshine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/from-a-cloud-of-depression-into-the-sunshine\/","title":{"rendered":"From A Cloud Of Depression Into The Sunshine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"color:#3e00a3\" class=\"has-text-color\">&#8220;To press on in noble endeavors, even while surrounded by a cloud of depression, will eventually bring you out on top into the sunshine.\u00a0\u2013 Ezra Taft Benson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ezra Taft Benson also suggests several things we can do to help pull us out of a cloud of depression and help bring us out into the sunshine: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#5200a3\" class=\"has-text-color\">&#8220;To lift our spirit and send us on our way rejoicing, the devil\u2019s designs of despair, discouragement, depression, and despondency can be defeated in a dozen ways, namely: repentance, prayer, service, work, health, reading, blessings, fasting, friends, music, endurance, and goals.&#8221;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I am down or depressed the best way I have found to pull myself out of it is to get busy pursuing positive endeavors.  When I&#8217;m out serving others or when I&#8217;m working to accomplish a goal I find there&#8217;s no time for sorrow or sadness to creep into my life. My days fly by and I welcome sleep at night. Any clouds of depression are chased away by an abundance of sunshine and I am happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My daughter&#8217;s favorite saying is that Happiness Is A Choice, but I would add it&#8217;s a choice that also requires some action on our part to bring the happiness about.
