{"id":11513,"date":"2019-08-07T21:23:01","date_gmt":"2019-08-08T03:23:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=11513"},"modified":"2019-08-07T21:35:18","modified_gmt":"2019-08-08T03:35:18","slug":"from-bad-to-worse-to-seriously","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/from-bad-to-worse-to-seriously\/","title":{"rendered":"From Bad To Worse To SERIOUSLY?!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It had been a rough day\u2026you know that kind of day where everything seems to go wrong?\u00a0 I\u2019d been up til 4am working on a really important project in order to solve a problem. Finally I got so tired I couldn\u2019t even finish my own sentences and decided to call it for the night\u2026surely tomorrow everything going bad would look better\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I woke up a few hours later and began working on it again, so hyper-focused I think a wild horse stampede could have come running through the room and I wouldn\u2019t have noticed.\u00a0 Finally I was just to the point of having it all worked out when BAM!&#8230;the rug was pulled out from under me and the solution I&#8217;d crafted was no longer an option\u2026the bad had suddenly become worse\u2026I was SO disappointed.\u00a0 I was going to have to go back to square one to try and think of another solution all together\u2026  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019d had it. I was exhausted, stressed out, and unbelievably discouraged\u2026 I turned to my husband and said, \u201cThat\u2019s it, I\u2019m going to get a slushy.\u201d&nbsp; Now I don\u2019t normally drink slushy\u2019s because they are so full of empty calories it\u2019s insane, but I\u2019d had it\u2026so off to get a slushy we went.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We pulled up to the Sonic Drive-through and said, \u201cWe\u2019d like\na grape slushy with unblended vanilla ice cream up the middle.\u201d&nbsp; The voice came back over the speaker and\nsaid, \u201cI\u2019m sorry but our slushy machine is down today.\u201d&nbsp; All I could say is \u201cARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!\u201d&nbsp; This had to be a joke, right? I mean it\u2019s\nSonic\u2026the slushy is their thing\u2026that machine is never down\u2026 My husband ordered\na diet soda and we pulled forward to wait.&nbsp;\nI turned to my husband feeling totally dejected after such a\ndisappointing day and said half serious, \u201cit\u2019s like God doesn\u2019t love me anymore\u201d.&nbsp; Just as I said it there came a knock on the\ncar window\u2026it was the Sonic employee bringing out our diet soda.&nbsp; \u201cI can\u2019t believe your slushy machine is down\u201d\nI uttered sadly as he handed over the drinks. &nbsp;\u201cOh, it actually just started working again\u201d\nhe said, \u201cdid you want me to get you one?\u201d &nbsp;\u201cYES!\u201d I exclaimed joyously.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What that employee didn\u2019t realize was that my joy was over more than a slushy machine\u2026my joy was over the fact that as silly as it may sound, for me, that slushy machine working again was a little sign from God letting me know that He still loves me&#8230;\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things don\u2019t always go the way we hope, and often times our problems don\u2019t get solved even when we\u2019ve worked our guts out on them, but one thing we can always be certain of is that God still loves us.
