The story is an awesome example of how good customer service pays off – It makes a person want to tell a friend, then that person tells a friend, and the next thing you know its posted in a blog for the entire world to hear! Here’s the story Alexis shared:

“A couple weeks ago, a friend and I were making freezer meals while our husbands played games with friends downstairs. Side note—why is it when guys get together, they do fun things? When women get together, we do more cooking… I never thought my life would come to this, but here I am!

Anyway, we each prepared two different meals, doubled so each of us would end up with four meals. My friend needed to cook lots of chicken for chicken enchiladas, so we used my beloved Instapot. If you don’t have one, don’t let the following incident scare you! They really are the best invention ever and save so much time!

She put the frozen chicken in the Instapot and set the allotted time (probably 10 mins because it was the max amount of chicken and Instapot’s are that amazing). Time went by and she noticed the chicken had been cooking for a while, so we turned the release valve to release the pressure to check the chicken. Normally it only takes a few minutes to depressurize; however, after probably another 15-30 minutes, we noticed it was still releasing! And… we noticed a dent on the side of my Instapot. We were worried it was a ticking chicken bomb! I unplugged the cooker and I yelled for my husband to help – “Dalton, I need your help!”…he didn’t seem to move—naturally … “DALTON, IT’S AN EMERGENCY!” …He bolted up the stairs, we pointed to the pot, and he ran it outside praying it wouldn’t explode on him. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for it to cool off, and to our surprise, the chicken inside was perfect!

The next day I did some research and couldn’t find anything on whether it was safe to use a dented pot. I was devastated because it had been a Christmas gift from my mom two years ago and the warranty period was over. Given our life situation with a house and new baby, there was no way I could afford to buy a new $160 Instapot… I decided to reach out to Instapot’s customer service. They had me send pictures of the damage and answer a few questions – then I received this email a few hours later:

“Hello Alexis,
Thank you for your reply with the requested information. Although your Instant Pot is outside of the one-year warranty period, we would like to provide you with a replacement, at no cost, as a loyalty gesture.”

Blessings from heaven! Their customer service was prompt, helpful, and friendly. They’ve guaranteed me as a loyal Instapot customer and lover, and made me want to shamelessly endorse them to anyone who will listen! So for any of you who haven’t yet tried one – GO BUY ONE! You’ll love how much time it saves and we’ve loved every meal cooked in it—even the exploded chicken😊!
