{"id":11923,"date":"2019-11-14T02:22:43","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T08:22:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=11923"},"modified":"2019-11-14T02:23:30","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T08:23:30","slug":"you-can-lead-a-horse-to-water-and-sometimes-the-horse-will-crap-in-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/you-can-lead-a-horse-to-water-and-sometimes-the-horse-will-crap-in-it\/","title":{"rendered":"You Can Lead A Horse To Water And Sometimes The Horse Will Crap In It"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align:center\" class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">\u201cYou can lead a horse to water and sometimes the horse will\ncrap in it.\u201d&nbsp; &#8211; Roger Ellerton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday I was dealing with some fallout that was caused by\nsomeone who made some really unnecessary mistakes in a professional setting that\nhad some really impactful consequences.&nbsp; What\nwas even more frustrating to me was that in advance of them making the mistake I\nhad literally reached out and reminded them of how important it was that they\ndo the very thing they then didn\u2019t do.&nbsp; Why\nwould they mess that up?!&nbsp; Was it\nincompetence?&nbsp; Was it intentional? &nbsp;Who knows\u2026 but the bottom line is whichever the\ncase, the mistake made will have lasting effects and that makes me really sad\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I was dealing with some of the fallout caused by their\nmistake I sat their asking myself how could anyone be so shortsighted?&nbsp; I\u2019d shown them multiple examples of how to\nhandle things prior to their making the mistake. I\u2019d reminded them in advance of\nthe importance of making sure they handled it properly.
