Where you feel absolute fear, hope, adrenaline, nervousness, and peace all at the exact same time? Moments like deciding to move houses, go back to school, have a baby, quit a job, or choose a spouse?

This past year my moment was to start a company. I had no idea how to do it or what would be required of me. But somehow, I finally mustered enough courage (some might call it stupidity or insanity) to take the plunge and jump into something that I didn’t know would fail or succeed. WHY? Why do any of us make bold decisions that we don’t know the path or ending to? Decisions that cause us to change and venture into the unknown?

We all make these decisions because we’re made for something greater. Because we don’t even quite know our potential, but we get glimpses of it when we do hard things. Because we aren’t ever truly happy with being stagnant and stationary. Because we crave deeper relationships and growth. Because we have a beating heart and innate curiosity. Because we surround ourselves with good family and friends who love us and support us, no matter the outcome. Because we know we have someone to turn to and cry with when things go wrong or celebrate with when we are victorious. Because we have seen others before us do the impossible to change the world. We make these decisions because we don’t know everything, but we know enough to get to the next step and have hope that we’ll figure out the step after that once we get there.

Every single one of us has something to be incredibly proud of, no matter what stage we’re at in our lives. Sometimes we get so caught up in the next step that we miss how far we’ve truly come.
