\u201cDo what is right, let the consequence follow.\u201d That quote is a\nquote that was on my office every day while I ran my company MediConnect\nGlobal. That quote means a great deal to me because it is by living by that quote\nthat I attribute the successes that have happened in my life.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tonight I was honored as BYU’s Wheatley Institution 2020 Distinguished Ethics Speaker where I spoke about why integrity and ethics mean so much to me. I shared stories from my childhood that taught me a foundation of integrity and I shared stories from my business where I had to stand strong in the face of adversity. I shared that doing the right thing isn’t always easy, in fact, it’s often downright hard and sometimes painful…but right is right and integrity means having the courage to do what’s right at all times and in all places.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wish I knew how to express the depth to which I believe in the\npower of Integrity. Your reputation of honesty and integrity is worth its\nweight in gold in all of your business relations, your human relations, and\nyour relationship with God (or whatever higher power you believe in). There will\nbe so many opportunities in life to take shortcuts or do the wrong things or\neven to justify bad behavior in reaction to someone else\u2019s bad behavior \u2013 DON\u2019T\nEVER FALL FOR ANY OF THAT! It will never be worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be times when doing the wrong thing will be easier\nand it will appear to guarantee the outcome you want \u2013 that will always be a\ntemptation \u2013 but when it\u2019s all said and done doing the wrong thing will never\nbring lasting happiness\u2026it just won\u2019t. So when times are tough and you are\nstruggling, just remember to think:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGod grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right,\neven though I think it is hopeless.\u201d ~Chester W. Nimitz<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not always easy to have the courage to do the right thing\nno matter what. Sometimes when you do the right thing it has consequences that hurt\nyou or others, but it is still the right thing to do.  And when you do what is right things will\nalways work out in the end. Maybe they won\u2019t work out as fast as you\u2019d like,\nand maybe they won\u2019t work out in the way you\u2019d think, but in the end, they will\nwork out.  So if you have done the right\nthing and it hasn\u2019t worked out yet just know it\u2019s not the end\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can live your life in a such a way that when each day comes to a close you can look in the mirror and know, or you can kneel down to say your prayers and say, \u201cToday I did the right thing\u201d you will have confidence and be blessed with inner peace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blessings come from living a life of integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
