We told ourselves it was a good idea at the time. Two of my girlfriends and I were on a trip to\nNew York City several years ago when we decided to order the Quattro Cookie\nSundae at Planet Hollywood in Time Square for dessert. What was delivered to\nour table was a GINORMOUS ice cream sundae that was big enough to feed a small\nvillage, along with a hot fudge brownie sundae and a vanilla milkshake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perhaps we should have been deterred by the shocked faces of the\nother patrons in the restaurant, but the draw of the hot fudge, extra caramel\nand whipped cream was just too powerful to resist. So we grabbed our\nspoons and dug in to the literal mountain of ice cream, cookies, and\ntoppings\u2026and we dug\u2026and we dug\u2026and we dug\u2026.until that mountain became nothing\nmore than streaks at the bottom of the ginormous dish. As we shoveled\neach bite into our mouths we all proclaimed how unbelievably amazing it tasted,\nhow it was such a good idea to order these desserts, and how heavenly each bite\ntasted. For that moment, all was well with the world\u2026..but only for about\ntwo more minutes until the weight (and I mean literal weight) of what we had\njust eaten hit us. We couldn\u2019t stand up\u2026we couldn\u2019t move\u2026we were\nliterally slipping into an ice cream coma. In fact I am fairly certain we\nstarted to see a light at some point\u2026\u201ddon\u2019t go into the light\u201d we had to tell\neach other\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We told ourselves it was a good idea at the time, but the truth is\nthat we knew better going into it. It didn\u2019t take a genius to look at\nthis 5 pound bowl of ice cream and know that putting all of it into our mouths\nwould be a bad idea. We knew better, but we did it anyway\u2026all the time\ntelling ourselves how worth it that it was\u2026.until it was over\u2026.and then\u2026.let\u2019s\njust say, SO NOT WORTH IT!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In life we know what is smart behavior and what is not, yet\noften times we tell ourselves \u201cthis is totally worth it\u201d, even though deep down\nwe know dang well that we will regret it later\u2026yet we do it anyway, pushing the\nconsequences out of our minds\u2026..which is all well and good until you start\nslipping into an ice cream coma\u2026 Sure, some of us may be lucky enough to avoid\ngoing into the light, but others are not so lucky, and the risk just isn\u2019t\nworth taking\u2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A word of advice:\u00a0\u00a0 When you know it’s a bad idea \u2013 DON\u2019T DO IT!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
