Now anyone that knows my husband knows that the man grew up on a farm and knows exactly what he’s talking about on those types of things…but clearly the workers didn’t think so as they blew him off. My husband then asked the workers if they had a lot of experiencing doing this. They said yes they knew exactly what they were doing and they went back to doing it. All he could do was stand and watch as those workers continued to cut down that massive tree sending it crashing right onto our house…it came barreling onto our property decimating several sections of our metal fence, crumbling stone blocks on our retaining wall, ripping gutters off the house and crashing onto our roof….

“*#(&#)(%#)()(*$)*@#)$”

My husband said that’s the closest representation I am allowed to give of the “farm words” that came out of his mouth next after he watched those workers bring that tree crashing down in a trail of destruction across our property and onto our home after he’d literally just tried to warn them that’s what would happen if they kept doing it the way they were. But what tells you how good a man I married is the fact that after he had a moment to get over the shock of the damage they’d caused to our property my husband went and apologized to the workers for how colorful his language had been when it happened.

It’s going to take several days if not several weeks to get everything cleaned up and all that was damaged today fixed and to have things back to looking as pretty as they did yesterday before that tree came crashing down on us.

Although as I sit here thinking about it tonight I’m struck by the thought that perhaps waking up in the morning expecting a tree will come crashing into your house isn’t a stretch for 2020…pandemics, earthquakes, fires, riots, trees crashing on your house…what’s next for 2020? A ginormous Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is going to be lumbering down a street??!!
