{"id":146,"date":"2012-08-29T22:13:31","date_gmt":"2012-08-30T04:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=146"},"modified":"2012-10-26T15:16:02","modified_gmt":"2012-10-26T21:16:02","slug":"live-life-with-perspective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/live-life-with-perspective\/","title":{"rendered":"Live Life With Perspective"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Watching the path of destruction of hurricane Isaac certainly makes one stop and put their life into perspective. \u00a0It\u2019s amazing how in an instant homes can be completely destroyed, a family\u2019s belongings can be washed away, and people can experience the loss of literally all their material possessions.\u00a0 Things that they may have worked years and year to accumulate can be gone in literally a second.\u00a0 And one has to ponder how much that person had to sacrifice of their life in order to accumulate those things.\u00a0 I can\u2019t help but wonder if they look back and wish they could have done things differently now that they have seen how quickly the things they accumulated could be swept away.\u00a0 Would that five minutes of playtime with their child now mean more than the late night list of to-do\u2019s?\u00a0\u00a0 It certainly makes you stop and think, doesn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n<p>And for those who lose their lives in natural disasters\u2026what do they look back and wish they had done differently in their lives?\u00a0 What would they wish they had done more of and what do they wish they would have done less of?\u00a0 I certainly think I would wish I had worried less in my life, especially because worrying doesn\u2019t ever change the outcome of things.\u00a0 I certainly think I would wish I had spent more time laughing with my children and less time worrying about those socks someone left on the floor.\u00a0 And I am sure I would wish I had appreciated every single moment of life that I had been blessed with.\u00a0 Every smile.\u00a0\u00a0 Every friend.\u00a0 Every tear.\u00a0 Every laugh.\u00a0 Every challenge.\u00a0 Every lesson.\u00a0 Every moment.<\/p>\n<p>I think it is healthy for us to sit back sometimes and consider how we would feel if we knew our life would end today?\u00a0 And how would we feel if we lost everything we had?\u00a0 What would we wish we had done different and what would we value more?\u00a0 And once we have thought through those questions we should use our answers to change our lives today. \u00a0Right Now.\u00a0 While we still have the chance to do things differently. \u00a0\u00a0We should never live our lives in a way we will regret.\u00a0 We should live our lives with joy and passion and through the eyes of perspective.
