{"id":1641,"date":"2012-10-25T23:21:41","date_gmt":"2012-10-26T05:21:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=1641"},"modified":"2012-10-25T23:22:12","modified_gmt":"2012-10-26T05:22:12","slug":"raw-talent-at-its-finest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/raw-talent-at-its-finest\/","title":{"rendered":"Raw Talent at its Finest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am guessing that many of you who saw my daughter Ashley&#8217;s avatar got really excited thinking this blog was written by her &#8211; but this time it wasn&#8217;t written by her, however, it is about her so\u00a0I thought it would be fitting to use her\u00a0avatar\u00a0to go with\u00a0this story:<\/p>\n<p>Tonight I was sitting down to work on an upcoming charity event which will include a competition in which young people (high school age) coming up with simple business solutions for real-world problems.\u00a0 The group I am working on it with asked me to get my daughter Ashley\u2019s input on how they should do their design for this event.\u00a0 They had met Ashley for the first time during a previous meeting I had with them and they were so impressed with her natural marketing abilities and her knowledge of \u201cwhat\u2019s cool\u201d and how to make something un-sexy sexy, that they really value her input for this upcoming event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When I sat down with Ashley to ask for her ideas she immediately got a piece of scrap paper and begins drawing something.\u00a0 She literally came up with an entire naming idea and logo design in about five minutes!\u00a0 When she showed me the drawing I was totally blown out of the water by it.\u00a0 It was PERFECT!\u00a0 Here is the actual sketch of the design she came up with:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/raw-talent-at-its-finest\/ashley-design\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1642\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1642\" title=\"Ashley Design\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Ashley-Design.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Ashley-Design.png 555w, https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Ashley-Design-300x122.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>WOW!\u00a0 Are you serious?!?!\u00a0 Who can bust out talent like that &#8211; as if it is no work at all and just naturally comes to her!\u00a0 One of the people I respect the most in this world once shared a quote with me that fits this situation perfectly\u00a0:\u00a0 &#8220;The art of craftmanship is making it look easy&#8221; -Buddy Stewart.\u00a0\u00a0 This was true craftmanship in my opinion.\u00a0 Ashley then went on to design the entire flyer for them with the event info done all cool and hip and an awesome\u00a0layout design.\u00a0 I won\u2019t show you the final product yet because I don\u2019t want to spoil it before the event flyers come out, but I can tell you that it was AWESOME!<\/p>\n<p>My child truly has no idea how incredibly amazing her abilities are.\u00a0 She has confidence in who she is but she has yet to come to an appreciation of the INCREDIBLE God given gifts she can bring to the table.\u00a0 I tell her over and over again and she seems to think I only say it because I am her mom.\u00a0 She genuinely has no idea how much greatness is within her.\u00a0 I just have to say that being her mother is humbling.\u00a0 Truly.\u00a0 To see her raw talent continue to develop and grow is such a blessing to my life.\u00a0 She is my example and my hero.\u00a0 The only word I know how to use to describe her\u00a0is WOW!<\/p>\n<p>There are<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> so many<\/span> amazingly talented young people in the world today.\u00a0 They have so many gifts and talents that they are developing.\u00a0 I hope all of us will take the time to encourage them, to build them up, to help them see what gifts they have been given.\u00a0 They sometimes need help becoming aware of the gifts they brought with them into this world.\u00a0 They often need a self-esteem boost that will come as they start developing these talents they have.\u00a0 We as adults need to do everything we can to help our kids today to come to a recognition that they are absolutely AMAZING, that they can do anything they set their mind to, that there are no limits of what\u2019s possible, that their imaginations are valued, that they never need to feel small\u2026not ever.\u00a0 Make it a point today to tell a young person how much you feel blessed to have them in your life.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And if Ashley ends up reading my blog today I want her to know that I am blessed to have her in my life and that I love her to the moon and back!<\/p>\n<p>~Amy<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am guessing that many of you who saw my daughter Ashley&#8217;s avatar got really excited thinking this blog was written by her &#8211;
