{"id":1784,"date":"2012-11-07T00:01:35","date_gmt":"2012-11-07T06:01:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=1784"},"modified":"2012-11-07T00:02:05","modified_gmt":"2012-11-07T06:02:05","slug":"dealing-with-disappointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/dealing-with-disappointment\/","title":{"rendered":"Dealing with Disappointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cDon\u2019t let today\u2019s disappointments cast a shadow on tomorrow\u2019s dreams.\u201d ~Unknown<\/p>\n<p>I have to say that I was disappointed to see the Presidential race end with four more years of the same Presidential leadership we have had as it causes me HUGE concerns for the economic future of our country.\u00a0 I struggle to see how our country can sustain four more years the same problems, and so to me, this loss was a very tough loss indeed.<\/p>\n<p>Even though I am sad about Mitt Romney\u2019s loss, I for one, do not think it is appropriate to trash talk anyone who was chosen to hold the office of \u201cPresident of the U.S.\u201d &#8211; Even if the person who wins the Presidency isn\u2019t the person I voted for, they are still the President of our country, and I believe that we have a duty to show respect for the position, whether or not we respect the individual that holds the position.\u00a0 \u00a0Because of this I will refrain from saying any negative comments about the President.\u00a0 I just pray that the President will recognize the changes that he needs to make in order to lead the country in a better direction, and I pray he will have the courage to actually do the right things.\u00a0 All Americans should be praying for that.\u00a0 We desperately need it.<\/p>\n<p>As disappointing as the results of this election were, the results are what they are, and at this point I have to remind myself that we cannot change the past, we can only move forward into the future and do the best we can with the situation as it is. \u00a0\u00a0We need to do the best we can to pull our country together.\u00a0 It was clear from the way the election votes came out that we are a country strongly divided.\u00a0 Somehow we need to find ways to remember that we should all have the same end goals in mind of improving our economy, improving our security, and protecting our liberty.\u00a0 We have to work together if we want things to improve and I really hope we will see that happen more in our countries leaders moving forward.\u00a0 I personally refuse to lose hope for the future, even if it seems a little bleak right now.\u00a0 I still believe in America and all that it stands for.
