\u00a0Tis The Month Before Christmas<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tis the month before Christmas, we’re all going nuts;
\nWith so much to do, there’s no ifs, ands or buts.
\nBuy presents, hang tree lights, pop cards in the mail,
\nSend gift packs, thread popcorn, find turkeys on sale.<\/p>\n

Decorations need stringing up all through the house.
\nAnd you haven’t a clue what to buy for your spouse.
\nSchool concerts, receptions, open houses with friends,
\nLong lineups, short tempers, tying up the loose ends.<\/p>\n

With all our mad dashing, we’re reeling from shock;
\nLet’s stop for a minute and really take stock.
\nIt’s crassly commercial, the cynical say;
\nIf that’s true, that our fault-it’s us and not they.<\/p>\n

Take time for yourself-though hard as that seems\u2014
\nEnjoy your kids’ laughter, excitement and dreams.
\nTake a moment out now, don’t get overly riled,
\nInstead make an angel in snow with your child.<\/p>\n

The shortbread can wait, and so can the tree;
\nWhat’s important to feel is a child’s sense of glee.
\nThe holidays aren’t about push, rush and shove;
\nThey’re for friendship and sharing and family love.<\/p>\n

Hear the bells, feel the warmth, light up with the glow
\nOf a message first sent to us so long ago:
\nPeace, love and goodwill, and hope burning bright.
\nMerry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 – unknown<\/p>\n

We are only days away from Christmas now but I thought this poem served as\u00a0a good reminder of what we should be focusing on at this time of year.\u00a0 Spending the day home today, taking care of my daughter while she is laid up in her hosptial bed, was a great reminder of how nice it is to have quiet time to spend with your child.\u00a0 May we all save enough time over this holiday to really enjoy our children or loved ones.\u00a0 The memories we make will last far longer than any gift\u00a0we give or receive.\u00a0 So take time to make plenty of good memories this holiday!<\/p>\n
