Happy Mother\u2019s Day to all of the mothers, future mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, nannies who play second mother, mothers who don\u2019t or can\u2019t have children of their own but who love children and provide mothering in one way or another, and single fathers who have to play the role of mother and father \u2013 so basically I am saying to all women and single dads everywhere \u2013HAPPY MOTHER\u2019S DAY and that includes all of you!<\/p>\n
I felt it important to list all of those who deserve a happy mother\u2019s day wish in the opening of today\u2019s blog because I think we often forget to think of those who are not obviously mothers, but who really are deserving of the gratitude and praise of being a type of mother.<\/p>\n
For many years I had a nanny who helped me with my children. I was a CEO and a single mom and there was no way I could do it all alone.\u00a0 I was incredibly blessed to have Stephanie in my life.\u00a0 Stephanie was the most amazing nanny a mother could ever hope for.\u00a0\u00a0 She loved my children as her own and she provided care for them the same way she would have if they were her own flesh and blood.\u00a0 To me and my children she was every bit deserving a being celebrated on mother\u2019s day as I was.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t have raised my children as well as I did without her there to support me, so to Stephanie, and all the other nannies and babysitters out there who assist a mother with her children I say THANK YOU!<\/p>\n
I happen to have an older brother who has been a divorced single parent for many years.\u00a0 I have watched him support his daughter as both the father and the mother through the years, and I know there are tremendous numbers of single dads out there who do that same thing.\u00a0 Being a single parent is one of the most difficult things to do.\u00a0 Trying to handle your household by yourself and still give your children the attention they need and deserve is an insanely hard task.\u00a0 It can be lonely and scary and overwhelming at times.\u00a0 And anyone out there who does it deserves huge thank you recognition on mother\u2019s day, whether they are a mom or a dad playing the role of mom.\u00a0 THANK YOU!<\/p>\n
I cannot tell you how excited I am that it is Mother\u2019s Day today because I was able to talk to my son who is out serving a mission for the LDS Church today on Skype, which means I was able to see his amazing smile as well!\u00a0 Oh, how happy that made me.\u00a0 That was the best mother\u2019s day present ever!!<\/p>\n
Being a mother is the biggest blessing of my life.\u00a0 I have had an amazing life thus far. I have accomplished amazing goals and I have received tremendous recognition for accomplishing this goals, which I have always appreciated very much \u2013 however, there is nothing in my life full of accomplishments that comes\u00a0 even close to being as important to me as the accomplishment of being the mother of two amazing children.\u00a0 I know how blessed I am to be a mother. I have many friends who for one reason or another were unable to have children of their own, which has helped me to appreciate to an even greater level just how truly blessed I am to have been able to have the two children that I do.\u00a0 I thank Heavenly Father every day for the ability I have been given to be their mother. When I think back over their lives so far, from the moment I discovered I was pregnant with them, to their birth, to their first steps, to their first day of school, all the way through the current day \u2013 every moment, every second that they have been a part of my life has been the biggest blessing in the entire world.\u00a0 I love being a mother, and I especially love being their mother, so to both of my children I say THANK YOU for letting me be your mom and I LOVE YOU with all my heart!<\/p>\n
Having a wonderful mother of my own is the other biggest blessing in my life.\u00a0 It would be impossible for me to express just how amazing my mother is. She is brilliant and talented and loving and kind.\u00a0 She is dedicated and loyal and caring.\u00a0 She loves the Lord and she lives her life in such a way as to show that to her children.\u00a0 She has taught me so many things that have helped me to become the mother that I am today.\u00a0 I love her and I am grateful every day that Heavenly Father allowed me to be born into her home with her as my mother.\u00a0 To my own mother I say THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU!<\/p>\n
My mother-in-law is every bit the amazing woman as my own mother.\u00a0 I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have the mother-in-law that I do.\u00a0 I married well because she came as part of that package!\u00a0 To her I say THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU!<\/p>\n
All of us have those special women in our lives whom have set an example for us, who have loved us, who have been there for us when we needed them, who have taught us, who have helped us, and who have impacted our lives for the better.\u00a0 Today is the day to tell them you love them. Today is the day to say THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU!\u00a0 Take advantage of the opportunity to do so.<\/p>\n
