{"id":3429,"date":"2013-07-09T23:01:09","date_gmt":"2013-07-10T05:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=3429"},"modified":"2013-07-09T23:01:23","modified_gmt":"2013-07-10T05:01:23","slug":"get-up-and-dance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/get-up-and-dance\/","title":{"rendered":"Get Up And Dance!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nothing can lift the spirits of a crowd faster than putting on some great music and having an impromptu dance party!\u00a0 The last few days I have been attending a Girls Camp for the Young Women in our church group ages 13-17 and after a long, hot, uphill hike, the girls were worn out and tired.\u00a0 That\u2019s when I knew it was time to bust out the music and start an impromptu dance par-tay!<\/p>\n<p>The moment the upbeat music starts the girls couldn\u2019t help but start moving first their heads to the music, quickly followed by their feet, and the next thing you know they were all out on the floor jumping around and having a fantastic time.\u00a0 The memory of being tired from the hike left their minds within minutes and everyone had a renewed sense of energy that went on for over an hour.\u00a0 There was the hokey pokey, the limbo, the Macarena, a complete list of 80\u2019s songs, and the ever popular hip hop hits.\u00a0 We had such a fun time as the girls and the leaders laughed and sang and let loose on the patio.<\/p>\n<p>It is amazing how a little fun music and a willingness to get on your feet and dance can take all the stresses of your day and melt them completely away.\u00a0\u00a0 Music can be such a powerful tool for changing your mood and motivating you to get moving!\u00a0 But you have to be willing to set your inhibitions aside and leave your shyness at the door and GET UP and MOVE!\u00a0 Life is far too short to be one of those people standing on the sidelines just watching the dance party from a distance.\u00a0 You need to be willing to get up and join in the fun and let yourself go!<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cGreat dancers are not great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion.\u201d \u2013 Martha Graham<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Never be one of those people who sit and \u00a0worry about how silly they will look as you dance &#8211;
