Today was\u2026well\u2026.not the best day.\u00a0 I was over at our new home construction site meeting with plumbers, electricians, framers, etc doing a walk through when I turned right smack into a huge wood beam that was setup to temporarily hold up one of the walls.\u00a0 It wacked me right in the forehead, eye, and cut my nose.\u00a0 I thought I was going to pass out at first, but I was able to regain my balance and my husband got me back home where I could lay down and get ice packs on my forehead to try and help stop the major goose-egg that was quickly growing and turning purple\u2026.no such luck\u2026it looks like a mother goose went to town laying a few major eggs on my forehead and nose\u2026.ouch!<\/p>\n<p>As I laid here with ice on my head and the room spinning in circles I thought to myself, \u201cwhat a bad day this turned out to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s amazing how we can wake up and have everything going just great and then in a matter of seconds something bad happens and turns our good day upside down.\u00a0 It happens to all of us and sometimes it happens a lot and all in a row, thus the old saying \u201cwhen it rains it pours\u201d.\u00a0 But all I can do is to remind myself that it was a bad day\u2026but that doesn\u2019t make it a bad life\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>My life is blessed in so many ways.\u00a0 Sure, my face is going to be all jacked up as I wait for the goose-eggs to go away and the bruises to fade, and that really sucks!\u00a0 No way around it!\u00a0 But even as bummed out as I am about it tonight, I still can\u2019t deny that I have so much to be grateful for in my life.\u00a0 And I am just going to try and stay focused on that, because when bad days hit that is the only way to get through them\u2026focus on the positive.<\/p>\n<p>And, when possible, try to have a little laugh.\u00a0 My daughter found a bad day card at Hallmark once that she used to bring humor to a bad day her brother was having.\u00a0 It read:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">(on the front of the card)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cHang in there\u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Sometimes life hands you lemons, but then you can make lemonade.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">(inside of card)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cOf course, sometimes life pulls down your pants, runs a power sander across your naked butt, then pours lemon juice on your raw abraded buttocks.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">In that case, a cool citrus drink wouldn\u2019t really help but, darn it\u2026you\u2019ve got to hang in there anyway!\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oh how humor can help put everything back into perspective for us! Nothing heals the saddened soul like a good dose of laughter will!<\/p>\n<p>When you find yourself feeling discouraged, find something to make you laugh. A funny quote, a good joke, a silly picture, a good comedy on TV or a funny movie. And then LAUGH!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cWhen life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.\u201d<\/span><\/strong> ~Author Unknown<\/p>\n<p>If things seem rough in your life right now or if you have been feeling discouraged\u2026.HANG IN THERE! And then find a reason to LAUGH!
