\u201cHere\u2019s to strong women.\u00a0 May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tonight the University of Utah held a Women Alumni event at our REES Capital offices and they asked me to hold a Q&A forum with the women where they could ask me questions about my past experiences and life lessons learned as an entrepreneur.\u00a0 There was an amazing group of women who came to the event and it was an honor to spend the evening talking with them.\u00a0 The women who coordinated the event had amazing food catered, and an amazing box of chocolates as a gift to me for speaking, and darling prize give away bags for the women attending.<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t help but think to myself how absolutely amazing women are.\u00a0 No one throws an event like women do.\u00a0 No one knows how to arrange for amazing food and darling gifts and all of those cute little touches that really make things nice for everyone involved the way women do.\u00a0 Then add to that the fact that women are beautiful and intelligent and caring and talented and giving and unbelievably capable and yeah\u2026.women are just plain amazing!<\/p>\n

\u201cWomen who seek to be equal with men lack ambition.\u201d\u00a0 – Marilyn Monroe<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

So often I get asked if it is hard to be a woman in business, but my answer to that is \u201cHeck No!\u201d\u00a0 It is awesome, and I wouldn\u2019t want it any other way.\u00a0\u00a0 I love being a woman in business because I think women bring so much to the table with their instincts, their people skills, their ability to care about others, their different approach to solving problems, and all the other gifts women have.\u00a0 \u00a0I love being a woman!\u00a0 And I love spending time with other successful, strong, wonderful women, and I loved spending time with the group from the University of Utah tonight and getting to know those great women.<\/p>\n

I returned home tonight to another\u00a0amazing young woman, my daughter Ashley, who is curled up sleeping on the couch and the quote comes to my mind:<\/p>\n

\u201cLet her sleep, for when she wakes she will move mountains.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

And indeed she will, because, after all, she is a woman, and that is what we women do :)!<\/p>\n

Strong women \u2013 may we know them, be them, raise them.\u00a0 And to the strong men \u2013 appreciate, love, and encourage the strong women in your life, because as strong as we may be, every now and then we need someone to take our hand and tell us everything will be alright\u2026then you can sit back and enjoy watching us move those mountains!<\/p>\n
