You might when you hear this&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I was talking with one of my dearest friends and he said \u201cSome days I look in the mirror and don\u2019t recognize the aging man staring back at me because he looks nothing like my young spirit on the inside.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 I knew EXACTLY what he meant because I feel that very same way every time I look into a mirror.\u00a0 It\u2019s so crazy because when you aren\u2019t looking in the mirror you see yourself as this young adult who never ages, but when you look into the mirror you see this other person who just keeps getting older and older.\u00a0 The wrinkles continue to come and the roots turning gray start to spread well beyond the point of being able to be referred to as roots anymore.\u00a0 On the inside you feel like your spirit has all this energy, but on the outside your body is slowly deteriorating and the things you once did with little or no effort suddenly ending up causing aches and pains that take longer and longer to heal.\u00a0 You find yourself attempting crazy stupid physical challenges only to be faced with the rude awakening that your body is no longer able to do what your spirit thought it was.\u00a0 There is no question that the aging person in the mirror can be tough to face, but it is something we all end up having to do\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I came across several facts that put time and aging into perspective \u2013 (just a quick warning before you read them, these facts might make you recognize just how old you actually are):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nintendo was launched 27 years ago<\/li>\n<li>Simba from the Lion King is 32 years old now<\/li>\n<li>Simpsons made their first TV appearance 25 years ago<\/li>\n<li>Vanilla Ice is 45 years old<\/li>\n<li>Pirates of the Caribbean came out over 10 years ago<\/li>\n<li>TV Series Full Houses ended 18 years ago<\/li>\n<li>Google was created 16 years ago<\/li>\n<li>Ross and Rachel\u2019s baby Emma on the TV show Friends would be 11 now<\/li>\n<li>The Little Mermaid is celebrating her 25<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary this year<\/li>\n<li>Home Improvement went off the air 15 years ago<\/li>\n<li>Andy from Toy Story started college in 2010 and should be graduating college soon<\/li>\n<li>Bryan Adam\u2019s song Summer of 69 came out 29 years ago<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Okay, fine, so if I wasn\u2019t feeling old enough already, that definitely confirmed just how old I actually am.\u00a0 Well despite the wrinkles and aches and pains I suppose there are some positives to growing old.\u00a0 We gain wisdom and understanding;
