That has always been one of my favorite quotes because it makes such a good point!\u00a0 Seriously, if you can\u2019t take the time to do it right you sure as heck don\u2019t have the time to redo it again.\u00a0 I have never understood people who rush through something because they are in such a hurry to then have to go back and do the entire thing over again.<\/p>\n
Today I spent a crazy number of hours having to fix something for a company that hadn\u2019t taken time to do right the first time. I was so incredibly frustrated especially because this isn\u2019t the first time I have had to redo this very thing for this same company.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t help but think about how greatly it damages your trust in a company when they consistently can\u2019t seem to get it right.\u00a0 In the spirit of wanting to help this company I wanted to take them by the shoulders and scream \u201cplease, please, please take the time to get it right so we can stop redoing it over and over again.\u201d<\/p>\n
People often say, \u201cI was rushed and had no choice but to do it quickly\u201d but if you stop and think about that statement it genuinely makes no sense at all.\u00a0 Doing something accurately may take a few extra minutes up front but it will save you an incredible amount of time later.\u00a0 It will also save you the pain and expense and time of having to redo it.\u00a0 And most important it will help you keep people\u2019s faith and confidence and trust in you.\u00a0 If you deliver things accurately up front you gain the respect and trust of others and the benefit to your business is amazing.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t make excuses.\u00a0 Don\u2019t blame it on not having enough time. Don\u2019t justify sloppiness. \u00a0Don’t whine about it. \u00a0Instead pull yourself together, take a deep breath, and JUST DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!<\/p>\n
