{"id":4439,"date":"2014-03-24T22:46:10","date_gmt":"2014-03-25T04:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=4439"},"modified":"2014-03-24T22:46:50","modified_gmt":"2014-03-25T04:46:50","slug":"congratulations-we-made-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/congratulations-we-made-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Isn&#8217;t it Amazing that We Made It"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tonight I came home after working an incredibly long day with the subcontractors at our home and collapsed into a chair.\u00a0 My daughter came home and I told her that the rest of the night was all time just for her and I to spend together.\u00a0 We\u00a0sat together on the couch and started having a great heart to heart conversation only to hear a constant buzzing of her cell phone letting her know a text had come in.\u00a0 And it didn&#8217;t just buzz once, it literally started buzzing every few seconds over and over again and she continuously checked I and responded to each one making it near impossible to finish our conversation.\u00a0 When I snatched the phone and laid it on the opposite end of the couch we were sitting on I thought she would have a nervous breakdown.\u00a0 Every buzz the phone made out of her reach of seeing the text was like watching someone being horribly tortured.\u00a0 She couldn&#8217;t take it.\u00a0 She was so distracted by her stress of not being able to answer the texts that she couldn&#8217;t focus at all on our conversation so I finally gave her the phone back and decided to let her continue texting her friends and I went back to work on my computer.\u00a0 That is when this video popped up from a friend.\u00a0 This video is a MUST WATCH for all (its only 2 minutes long).\u00a0 Literally, it is so AMAZING and it perfectly illustrates what life was like for those of us who grew up\u00a0at a time when we played outside and explored the world and made mud pies and rode bikes and played softball.\u00a0 It shows life \u00a0before cell phones and facebook and instagram.\u00a0 And guess what\u00a0 &#8211; we\u00a0survived!\u00a0\u00a0We made it!\u00a0\u00a0Amazing!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iframewidth=560height=315src=\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GWRdHXbTmrsframeborder=0allowfullscreen\/iframe\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GWRdHXbTmrs\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We all need to step away from the tech once in awhile.
