{"id":4466,"date":"2014-04-02T23:24:23","date_gmt":"2014-04-03T05:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=4466"},"modified":"2014-04-02T23:24:51","modified_gmt":"2014-04-03T05:24:51","slug":"family-where-life-begins-and-love-never-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/family-where-life-begins-and-love-never-ends\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cFamily, where life begins and love never ends\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cFamily is like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I grew up in a family of ten children.\u00a0 Five boys and five girls.\u00a0 How my mother did it I will never know!\u00a0 Especially because we weren\u2019t the most mellow of children to say the least.\u00a0 But she did it and somehow both she and all of us survived it!<\/p>\n<p>As we have all grown into adulthood and started families of our own it is often times difficult to stay in contact with each other on a regular basis.\u00a0 We are all spread out across the country with some living in Texas, Colorado, California, Virginia, and a few of us living here in Utah.\u00a0 Everyone has incredibly busy lives so we often go for long spurts without seeing one another or even talking to one another.\u00a0 But when the times come that we can get together it is always as if no time has passed at all.\u00a0 I think that is the beauty of being family \u2013 there is this connection that ignores time or space and binds you together forever.\u00a0 You are family.<\/p>\n<p>Today I was able to spend time with my little sister who came to visit from Colorado.\u00a0 It was so fun to see her and to spend time with her and her four adorable children.\u00a0 I am so proud of the woman she has grown up to be.\u00a0 I left home to go to college when she was just a little girl so most of our growing up years were spent apart from each other, but even so we can feel that bond of family when we come together.\u00a0 It\u2019s that bond of sisterhood that forever ties you together.\u00a0 That is what family is all about &#8211; It\u2019s about being bonded together through good and bad times. It\u2019s about growing up together in the same house to then taking what you have learned from that experience and spinning it off into your own family. Replicating the things you liked from your family, and deciding to change the things that you didn\u2019t like from your family.\u00a0 Everyone grows up and becomes their own person.\u00a0 But deep down, no matter how much time passes and no matter how grown up you become, you are still those same kids from the same family with the same roots.\u00a0 You are family.<\/p>\n<p>I am grateful for my family.\u00a0 I am grateful for my upbringing.\u00a0 I am grateful I had 9 brothers and sisters to be friends with and built sand castles and mud pies with in the backyard.\u00a0 I am grateful for the memories we created together as children and for the friendships we have as adults.\u00a0 I am grateful to parents who provided us that opportunity.\u00a0 And I am grateful to have my own little family that I get to be bonded with for eternity.\u00a0 I LOVE MY FAMILY!<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s challenge is to love your family and find time to reconnect with them.
