{"id":4499,"date":"2014-04-16T00:55:15","date_gmt":"2014-04-16T06:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=4499"},"modified":"2014-04-16T00:58:22","modified_gmt":"2014-04-16T06:58:22","slug":"suggestions-for-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/suggestions-for-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Suggestions For Success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We each may have our own definition of what the word success means to us in our lives, but I believe that success is something that each of us strive for.\u00a0 Figuring out how to achieve success\u00a0has been the topic of\u00a0countless\u00a0books and articles throughout time.\u00a0One particular article that I\u00a0thought had great\u00a0suggestions on achieving success was written by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.\u00a0 In his article he gave 21 suggestions for success, which are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><b>21 Suggestions for Success:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marry the right person. This\u00a0one decision will determine 90% of your happiness or misery.<\/li>\n<li>Work at something you enjoy and\u00a0that&#8217;s worthy of your time and talent.<\/li>\n<li>Give people more than they\u00a0 expect and do it cheerfully.<\/li>\n<li>Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.<\/li>\n<li>Be forgiving of yourself and others.<\/li>\n<li>Be generous.<\/li>\n<li>Have a grateful heart.<\/li>\n<li>Persistence, persistence,\u00a0persistence.<\/li>\n<li>Discipline yourself to save money on even the most modest salary.<\/li>\n<li>Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.<\/li>\n<li>Commit yourself to constant improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Commit yourself to quality.<\/li>\n<li>Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power or prestige, but on relationships with\u00a0people you love and respect.<\/li>\n<li>Be loyal.<\/li>\n<li>Be honest.<\/li>\n<li>Be a self-starter.<\/li>\n<li>Be decisive even if it means\u00a0you\u2019ll sometimes be wrong.<\/li>\n<li>Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.<\/li>\n<li>Be bold and courageous.
