When a happy time of life comes to an end it is hard, plain and simple.\u00a0 Tomorrow I will be attending my daughter Ashley\u2019s High School Graduation. It is a major life event for a young person.\u00a0 Ashley had an amazing High School experience. She was surrounded by good friends and she chose to be very involved at her school.\u00a0 Because of that it has caused her to feel very sad at the thought of High School ending.\u00a0 She recognizes that a major part of her life is coming to an end. But what I want to remind her with my blog today is that \u201cevery new beginning comes from some other beginnings end.\u201d\u00a0 Without having High School come to an end, she couldn\u2019t go on to the beginning of College and all the amazing experiences that are yet to come in her life.<\/p>\n
The same principle applies to all of us.\u00a0 Life is full of hard times that we can\u2019t wait to have come to an end, but it is also full of good times that we wish would never end.\u00a0 And facing the end of a good time can be really rough for us because it is hard to let go when we didn\u2019t want to.<\/p>\n
Here are two quotes that put letting go and moving forward into perspective:<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And<\/p>\n \u201cThere are far better things ahead than anything we leave behind.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 -CS Lewis<\/p>\n The best is yet to come for Ashley just as the best is yet to come for every one of us.\u00a0 And when one chapter ends we can\u2019t look at it as the end of our book\u2026we must remember it is just a chapter\u2026and the best chapter is still ahead and it is marvelous!\u00a0So don\u2019t focus on missing the past\u2026rather look ahead to the future with excitement and hope for all that is to come.<\/p>\n Each day we are given is a gift.\u00a0 What we do with each day is a choice.\u00a0 Never let yourself waste it by looking back with sadness.\u00a0 I love Dr. Seuss\u2019s words:\u00a0 \u201cDon\u2019t be sad because it\u2019s over, smile because it happened.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 So smile for the great times you have just had and look forward to the brightest future ever!<\/p>\n Happy Graduation to Ashley!
