{"id":4686,"date":"2014-06-10T00:49:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T06:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=4686"},"modified":"2014-06-10T00:49:32","modified_gmt":"2014-06-10T06:49:32","slug":"smile-happy-looks-good-on-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/smile-happy-looks-good-on-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Smile, Happy Looks Good on You"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cWAKE UP EVERY MORNING WITH THE THOUGHT <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\">THAT SOMETHING WONDERFUL IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What a great idea!\u00a0 I think I am going to write on my mirror \u201csomething wonderful is about to happen\u201d so when I wake up to get ready it\u2019s the first thought I see.\u00a0 What a great way to get your outlook set to having positive expectations for your life and for your day.\u00a0 So today, I am starting with the belief that indeed something wonderful is about to happen for each one of us.\u00a0 So when, not if, something wonderful happens make sure to share it and smile and spread joy.\u00a0 Imagine if we all focus on spreading happiness to each other and to the people we come in contact with today.\u00a0 Imagine if we all truly go the extra mile today to find ways to contribute to making wonderful things happen for everyone around us.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">A few years ago someone shared a cool article with me that gave 10 suggestions that are meant to inspire you into having an AMAZING DAY!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Some \u201cAmazing Day\u201d suggestions (by C. Harper):<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Every morning make the decision to have an amazing day.<\/b><br \/>\nAn amazing attitude will produce amazing behaviors, amazing conversations, amazing experiences and lessons and in turn, amazing days.\u00a0 It just does.\u00a0 Decide to be that person. No matter what happens, have an amazing attitude, do amazing things and create amazing results, by choice.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">2. Do what most people won\u2019t.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The tough things.\u00a0 The uncomfortable things.\u00a0 The thing which produces results.\u00a0 Create different standards for yourself.\u00a0 Expect more of\u00a0<b>yourself.<\/b>\u00a0 If you want to be exceptional (different to most), then you need to do exceptional things.\u00a0 Every day.\u00a0 If you do what \u201cthey do\u201d you\u2019ll get what they get.\u00a0 If you want \u201caverage\u201d then do average.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">3. Ask the right questions every day.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The ones which produce better outcomes.\u00a0 The ones which put you in a productive, empowered emotional state.\u00a0 Not the \u201cwhy did this happen\u201d but rather the \u201cwhat can I learn from this\u201d questions.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">4. Do something out of character.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Break a pattern.\u00a0 Confront a fear.\u00a0 Get uncomfortable.\u00a0 Apologize to someone.\u00a0 Laugh at yourself.\u00a0 Choose not to get offended.\u00a0 Choose not to be precious.\u00a0 Connect with someone (who needs it).\u00a0 Swallow your pride.\u00a0 Surprise your friends, family, colleagues and yourself.\u00a0 Stop rationalizing and procrastinating and start doing.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">5. Exercise.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>At the very least, be active.\u00a0 Move your body; it needs love too.\u00a0 I can hear your heart, lungs and muscles applauding already.\u00a0 And when your body is happy, your mind will follow.\u00a0 If you already exercise, do something different.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t stretched since 1993, limber up.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t done a push up since high school, gimme ten.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t had your heart rate \u00a0up since \u2018The Texas Chainsaw Massacre\u2019 then move your limbs and raise a sweat.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">6. Meditate.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Be still.\u00a0 Even for ten minutes.\u00a0 Every day.\u00a0 Clear your mind of the clutter.\u00a0 No phone, computer, people, noise, music, complete silence.\u00a0 Stop hurrying and worrying for a moment.\u00a0 Step away from the busy-ness of your reality and listen to that still small voice; the one you ignore too much.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">7. Listen more, talk less and do more.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Really listen.\u00a0 You talk too much and do too little.\u00a0 You\u2019ve thought about it for long enough, do it.\u00a0 Wanna connect with people?\u00a0 Talk about yourself less.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">8. Commit a random act of kindness.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Give (time, energy, money, love) unconditionally.\u00a0 Low-key, no fanfare, no accolades.\u00a0 When possible, do it anonymously.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">9. React differently.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Find the good.\u00a0 Find the lesson.\u00a0 Shock yourself again.\u00a0 Do what most people won\u2019t.\u00a0 When you have a reason to complain, don\u2019t. When you have a reason to be sad, choose happy; it\u2019s more enjoyable.\u00a0 Be the change, if not the catalyst for it.\u00a0 Smile when there\u2019s no need.<\/p>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">10. Address that thing\u00a0you\u2019ve\u00a0been putting off.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Procrastinate no more.\u00a0 Lose the excuse.\u00a0 Find a reason to do.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY EVERYONE!!
