Several years ago when I was posting my daily blog for my employees of my company I invited them to give me subjects they wanted me to blog about.\u00a0 Several of them asked me to post about what I think has helped me in my life to be a more successful person and mother, aside from those things that have helped me succeed in business. I was glad that someone asked that question because it really made me stop and think about it at the time, and the truth is that when I really think about what things help me to become a better person and a better mother, I can honestly say that they are actually the very same things that helped me to become a more successful business person too.<\/p>\n
My faith.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 Without question the core of how I guide my life is my faith in God. \u00a0Let me express very clearly on this point that I respect that everyone has the right to believe or not believe whatever they choose to when it comes to religion.\u00a0 I think religion is a deeply personal decision that no one has the right to make for anyone else.\u00a0 So please don\u2019t interpret what I will share in this section as some sort of judgment on religion or beliefs, I am solely sharing something about me personally that has made me who I am.\u00a0 I believe in God as my Heavenly Father who loves me and wants me to become the best person that I can possibly become.\u00a0 I have faith that God has a plan for me.\u00a0 I genuinely believe that he cares about each of us personally and that everything that we face in life is meant to help us become a better, kinder, more loving person.\u00a0 I try to live my life in a way that I would make Heavenly Father proud of me and that is the very core of how I try to make decisions in my life\u00a0 – would what I am doing today or is the way I am handling this situation such that God would be proud of me?\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0I think much of my life success as a person and a professional is attributable to my faith and my actions taken because of that faith.<\/p>\n My belief that there is no such thing as Coincidence.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 I believe strongly that nothing happens by coincidence and that we should pay attention to the people brought into our lives and the positives we can learn from them and the way we might be able to bless their lives.\u00a0 I think that much of the time God answers prayers through someone he brings into our lives at different times, and by that same token I think that God expects us to be the answer to other people\u2019s prayers when he needs us to – so it\u2019s up to us to be mindful of those opportunities and to be looking for ways we can serve and help others. \u00a0\u00a0I think that living my life looking for the meaning in everything around me has helped me tremendously as a person.<\/span><\/p>\n My Goals.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 \u00a0I am a HUGE believer in setting goals, writing them down, and having a goal poster.\u00a0 I believe in this more than I even know how to express in a blog.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0I have always set goals for myself and I have always let my kids see how important my goals are to me.\u00a0 I think my dedication to setting and achieving my goals has helped me to be a better mother because I now see that the same importance of setting and achieving goals has been passed on to my children and they have made goals important in their own lives.<\/p>\n Always trying to beat my personal best.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 I am a person who competes against myself.\u00a0 I don\u2019t let myself focus on competing with someone else.\u00a0 I force myself to focus on always trying to beat my personal best. In doing that I find myself always putting 110% into everything I do.\u00a0 I always want to feel like I did the absolute best I could do in every situation.\u00a0 I think that has served me well in accomplishing things both personally and professionally and as a mother.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0I never want to look back and regret having only given a partial effort to anything.\u00a0 I want to know that whether I succeed or fail that I put 110% of me into trying.\u00a0 I never allow myself to feel complacent about things.\u00a0 I always stay focused on what I can still improve or what I can still do better.\u00a0 That keeps me focused on continuing to do better at everything I do every day.\u00a0 I think that has helped me to be more successful as an individual.<\/span><\/p>\n My thirst for knowledge.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 I \u00a0\u00a0love to learn.\u00a0 I always want to be learning and growing.\u00a0 I read a tremendous amount. I research things and study things.\u00a0 I ask tons of questions.\u00a0 I ask the why in everything to try and understand it.\u00a0 I ask people to teach me things I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 I watch people I admire at things to see how I can improve myself.\u00a0 I never get tired of learning.<\/p>\n My desire to help others to excel.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 One of the things that helps me the most in my life to be a more successful person in life is my desire to help everyone around me to excel.\u00a0 I realize that the best way I can achieve my own full potential is to first help others to achieve their full potential.\u00a0 I believe that helps me to be more successful in every aspect of my life, as a wife, a mother, a sibling, a friend, a professional, a daughter\u2026frankly it helps me to be more successful in every part of my life.<\/p>\n There are many other lessons I have learned in my life that help me to grow as a person.\u00a0 I truly believe that no matter what area of your life you are trying to be more successful in in, the pathway to get there will always be the same – figure out the core values that you are going to live by.\u00a0 Then write down the things you will do to uphold those values, and also write down the things that you won\u2019t do because they don\u2019t align with your values.\u00a0 Then don\u2019t accept anything in your behavior that goes against your values.\u00a0 Force yourself to live by you core rules that uphold your values.<\/p>\n Have an amazing Friday and an even more amazing weekend everyone!
