{"id":4697,"date":"2014-06-15T21:26:27","date_gmt":"2014-06-16T03:26:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=4697"},"modified":"2014-06-15T21:26:41","modified_gmt":"2014-06-16T03:26:41","slug":"any-man-can-be-a-father-but-it-takes-a-special-person-to-be-a-dad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/any-man-can-be-a-father-but-it-takes-a-special-person-to-be-a-dad\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cAny man can be a Father, but it takes a special person to be a Dad\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">I want to start this week by paying a special tribute to all of the great dad\u2019s out there.\u00a0 Like the title said, any man can be a father, but it truly does take a special person to be a dad. I have learned that lesson firsthand in my own life with my children &#8211; they have a dad, who although he is not their biological father, he is 100% their dad as far as he is concerned and as far as they are concerned, and he is the best father two kids could ever ask for. I am a very lucky woman to be married to a man who is such an amazing father to our children.\u00a0 What a blessing it is to a mother to have a great man as the father to your children \u2013 Thank you Rollin for being such an amazing father to our kids.\u00a0 And to all the other fathers out there who are also great Dads I say \u201cTHANK YOU!\u201d \u00a0I have great respect for you men who are good dads to your children!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In addition to a great husband, I have been blessed with a fabulous Dad myself who set a great example for me in all that he did.\u00a0 He is the epitome of integrity and hard work and dedication to doing what is right in his life.\u00a0 He is the one that taught me to live by the creed \u201cDo what is right, let the consequence follow.\u201d \u00a0That is not always an easy thing to have the courage to do the right thing, no matter what.\u00a0 Sometimes there are consequences that can hurt you or others when you do the right thing, but it is still always the best choice to do the right thing.\u00a0 That is something I learned from my Dad and I am grateful to him for teaching me that and for every other example he set for me in my life.\u00a0 He is my hero, as every good dad should be to his kids.\u00a0 I love him with all my heart and wish him a Happy Father\u2019s Day today as well.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">For all the Dads out there I can tell you that your children will learn the most, not from what you say, but by the way you live your life.\u00a0 Your example of how to be a good person will speak louder than any words you could say.\u00a0 Never underestimate the power you example is to your children.\u00a0 I can guarantee they are watching your every move and they are listening and learning from all that they see you do.\u00a0 So thank you for living your lives in a way that they can be proud of and for setting an example for them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">There is a really cute poem to Fathers I want to share today. \u00a0Its called \u201cWalk A Little Slower Daddy\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em; color: #993366; text-decoration: underline;\">Walk A Little Slower Daddy<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cWalk a little slower Daddy,\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> said a child so small,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> \u201cI\u2019m following in your footsteps\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> and I don\u2019t want to fall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"> Sometimes your steps are very fast,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> Sometimes they\u2019re hard to see;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> So walk a little slower, Daddy,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> For you are leading me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"> Someday when I\u2019m all grown up,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> You\u2019re what I want to be;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> Then I will have a little child<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> Who\u2019ll want to follow me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"> And I would want to lead just right,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> And know that I was true,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> So walk a little slower, Daddy,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> For I must follow you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">I love that poem and I hope all of the Fathers enjoy it.\u00a0 Thank you again to every great father who is an amazing dad.\u00a0 The world is a better place because of you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>~Amy<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I want to start this week by paying a special tribute to all of the great dad\u2019s out there.\u00a0 Like the title said, any man can be a father, but it truly does take a special person to be a dad.
